NOTD – China Glaze Steppin Out
It was feeling the need for something fun and this fit the bill. I have made myself a promise to use every color I own before repeating so it was Steppin’ Out’s turn.
I received this color as a gift and I’d never heard of or seen it before. It’s just lovely. If anyone knows when this beauty was released or with what collection, please post or email me.
The metallic shimmer gives this reddish-purple a foil-like finish. You don’t get a high gloss sheen from it but it’s not matte either.
I’m staying with the Stickey Sandwich method, it seems to be working really well. I was lazy earlier this week and didn’t remove my Lippmann Hit Me With Your Best Shot mani until Wednesday night. So a whole week went by and it honestly didn’t look any more worn than the pic I took on Saturday. The only exception being a piece of my thumbnail that was ripped off when I reached to hold a door open for some rude, unappreciative people. Not even the slightest acknowledgment. Blech!
As requested in one of the other posts, I will be putting together an at home mani guide with tips and tricks for fab DIY manis. Be on the lookout.
So, what’s on your nails today? Planning a polish change?
*edit: The lovely Leysa on MUA informed me that Steppin’ Out is from the Babes in Toeland 3 collection. Thank you Leysa!*
Hi,
I just started reading your site and I love it. I adore polish! Today I have on Reddy or Not OPI Nicole.

Steppin Out is absolutely gorgeous. I wish I knew where it came from because I would love a bottle of that!
I’m wearing Twinkle from Joan Rivers’ fairy pales mini collection.
Cheers,
Nina
Hi Jana! Thanks for posting. Nicole is becoming hard to find, you’ve got a gem there.
Nina – I recently saw Steppin Out on eBay. I’m sure if you look, you can find it. How do you like the Joan Rivers polish? Does it apply well?
Joan Rivers is okay. I found it was difficult to apply when my nails were longer. I’m not sure if that is due to the small brush or if had to do with the base coat I was using at the time, which was horrible. I cut my nails shorter and switched my base coat and it is so much easier to apply.
Howevever, I’m not sure if I’d ever buy the minis again because I like the bigger brushes.
Cheers,
Nina
