NOTD – Nocti Nip Tuck
After posting the other day about how I thought the Nocti polishes were tricky to apply, I had to do a full mani with one. So I chose my favorite color from the line, Nip Tuck.
OMG you guys, it applied like a dream. So smooth, very easy to control. I did one of my best manis ever with it. I literally had only one spot to clean up and that was on my dominant hand, which I screw up all the time. I wonder if it makes a difference what surface you’re applying the polish to. Since this is a designed for natural nails, my guess is that it doesn’t adhere well with acrylic, like my nail art wheels (lemming wheels).
Not only is Nip Tuck the name of one of my favorite television shows, it is now one of my favorite nail colors. An intense sea green/turquoise shade loaded up with a fine shimmer, it is one HOT summer polish. I’ve only had it on for a day and I got two compliments from random strangers.
I scoured through my collection looking for duplicate shades and found China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise. In a side-by-side bottle comparison, they are twins. Swatched, the Nocti lacquer is a bit more intense. My ruling, if you have Turned Up Turquoise you don’t need both. If you don’t have either, get the Nocti. And that’s all I have to say about that.
We haven’t done a check in lately. What’s on your tips? Are you gearing up for sandal season?
I must say, I liked the color better when it was on the acrylic nail, because it had a bit of a bluer tinge in that photo *sigh*(like the ocean in Cancun!).
Thank you for providing THE best blog on nails I’ve ever found.
XoXo

hello! first time posting. love the blog. thanks to you, i’m sporting the new yell-o-neil. i feel like i have sunshine on my nails its a little jarring, but i’m liking it. probably will switch to OPI ink soon though…
Thanks Jessica! I tweaked the color on this pic to show it’s true color better. I didn’t want anyone to buy it and be disappointed with the color. My camera seems to have an issue with capturing the green so I’m looking to get a new one soon.
Pellmel – Yay for you! Yellow is so bold but very fun. The best part is it’s temporary. If you don’t like it, you can easily change it. Bravo for stepping outside the box!
That’s a terrific color! I like Flying Naked too.
Question: How often do you change your nail color?
I recently started a blog about make-up called “Beauty 101,” and I’m finding it difficult to get visitors. Since your blog is so well-known, I’d appreciate it greatly if you could add mine to your links to help increase traffic to my blog? I’d appreciate this greatly. Thank you in advance.

hey.love ur blog.when are you going to do a review of essie’s summer collection? I want to get it but i want to hear your take on it first.
WOW! You did those nails yourself? Beautiful – though I am not brave enough to wear anything nearly that full of color at my age
Where can I buy nocti?
I’m glad everyone is responding to this color and loving it. Yay!
So let’s tackle the questions…
1. I change my polish every 3-5 days, depending on my mood and free time. Though sometimes when I get new polishes in I can’t resist and I’ll remove a day old mani just so I can play.
2. I haven’t gotten my hands on the new Essies yet but as soon as I do, I’ll be sure to post my reviews.
3. Yes, I do my own nails. Thank you for the compliment. It’s fun for me and relaxing. I still think there are people that do a way better job than me but I’d go broke paying for manis at the rate I change my polish.
4. You can purchase Nocti lacquers directly from their website, http://www.nocti.com. Since Nocti is made by Art of Beauty, the same company that makes Zoya, you could check with any salon that sells Zoya and ask them to special order a Nocti polish for you.
first time to your blog. it’s great.
I’m going to nocti.com right now I have to have nip tuck. Does noci have a top coator shine product. I think that color has to be really glossy to look best.
Where can I purchase Nocti near Bloomfield Hills Mi. 48302 zip area?
