Fanatic Feedback – Nudes
I’ve received a few emails looking for recommendations for a pretty opaque nude. I suppose with Spring on it’s way, people are looking for something a little cleaner but still not sheer.
My favorite nude is OPI’s Skinny Dippin’ in Lake Michigan. It’s opaque with two coats and has lots of sparkle but not so much that the polish feels rough or looks like a disco ball on your hands. Every time I describe it I give the same visual. Think of the body suit Britney Spears wore while performing on the MTV VMAs back in 2000. You know, before the crazy got loose and she stopped grooming.
So now it’s your turn. Tell us what your favorite opaque nude is. If you can, let us know if it’s a cream, shimmer or glitter. Help your fellow readers out!

Avon Herringbone!
Mine is likely the Lippmann Fashion that you sent me! I have pic if you want it.
OPI’s Let Them Eat Rice Cake is awesome!!!
Essie Fed Up.
Have you tried ChG’s Wink? Its part of their Industry Lites and very nice. Has a little bit of mica which makes it fun yet very classy.
I just saw all of those Lites in my local B/S and online… Looks like ChG is expanding their line to accomidate everyone. Nice!
O… and try Gaze… its a beautiful light purple/pink creme.
Happy V-Day!
OPI Alone At Last, but I am open to exploring. I am curious to try some more of OPIs and Creative Nail Design nudes.
PS: Love your blog to pieces. My must-read. Thank you so much!
OPI Samoan Sand — creme, since I’ve never formed a love for shimmery nudes.
I wear nudes so seldom that I had to go to my big box-o-polish to see what the nude I use when I do a French manicure is actually called. I discovered the label has fallen off. It’s a CD one, it’s a shell pink with some gold shimmer, it’s about a million years and has been resurrected about a million times with Seche Restore…and I don’t know what its name is!
I used to like Guerlain Beige a lot as well – it works well with skin tone. Having said that, I used my last bottle up a while back and haven’t repurchased, simply because I only wear nudes about once a year these days.
OPI samoan sand is a neutral nude cream, also OPI Bubble Bath is a little more pale toned with a little pinkishness.
I really like OPI Dulce de Leche. It is creme finish.
OPI Just Tea-sing! It’s a beige nude with a very fine silver shimmer to it. I love the OPI Garden Party shades. I guess it’s still kinda sheer though… close to opaque but not quite there. OPI Samoan Sand is more opaque, but no shimmer.
i love sheers and nudes….i really ilke opi ur royal shyness, bubble bath, esie alure, sandy beach and ould like to try cnd serenity, which was mentioned on ur blog recently!
mac’s n-color!
I miss the glory days of 2001 Britney. Amazing analogy.
+ No sooner do I dis Essie’s lighter colors for streakiness (over on Blogdorf’s 40 Days) than Body Language and Secret Affair lay down wonderfully AND provide the all-important opaque coverage for my tip (Body Language less so).
+ Totally agree on Skinny Dippin. + There are great nudes in OPI Garden Party but haven’t found the opaque.
+ Lippman Satin Doll is another good one but not really a nude on my skin tone.
+ Haven’t tried Avon herringbone — if it’s opaque I say muchas gracias!
Revlon Top Speed in Quicksand for me. It is a frost.
Lippmann sarah smile
OPI Bubble Bath or Sweetheart
Essie Overnight
Zoya Charlize is a great nude with lots of shine.
Did you catch them on TV last week? it’s on the zoya blog.

Don’t use Skinny Dip’n in Lake Michigan if you are really pale though, on me it looks a sickly Band-Aid flesh color. It looks very glamorous on my tanner friend though.
