China Glaze Spring 2009 Sneak Preview – Romantique
Here we go kids! Before the first snowflake hits the ground, we’re already looking towards Spring. Set to release in early ’09 the Romantique collection consists of twelve chrome finish shades divided into two sets of six; warm & cool tones. Considering what a pain metallic and chrome shades can be to apply, I’m curious to test them out. But for now, here is an exclusive look at what’s to come. You’ll only see this on All Lacquered Up!
What do you think gals? Who’s gonna start saving their pennies now?
They are ok – I like the colors but I have a hard time with metallics personally. They will probably grow on me though.
Luckily, I only see 2 cool tone ones that I am going to get. Too frosty/metallic. I think I’m reaching a saturation point–even for China Glaze.
I can see myself springing for most of these (particularly the cool shades), if the application is pretty smooth. I’m especially in love with the light green and the grey – the grey is almost hematite!
I love them…I love them all! Perhaps a “spring cleaning” of my polish collection will give me room to add at least a few bottles of these?!
Wow i lose those metallic purples… i have been looking for a good one since my favorite N.Y.C. foil nail polish is royal foil dried up!
I think I want the green, the teal, and possibly a couple of the pinkish warm tones. Chrome is soooo hard to work with, but I’ll go for it for China Glaze
I’m with you on the chrome. I think it’s too haqrd to apply. I don’t even buy them cuz i know they’ll be trouble.
I also think they look tacky.
Oh, count me in. It’s been way over a year since I loved an entire collection, but (at least at first breeze) I want all of these!
these colors scream old lady to me!
I’ll pass….
I’m not as excited about these as I thought I would be. I just don’t love chrome that much. But you never know, by spring I might be all about the chrome. In which case, most of the colors are beautiful.
Oh my god I love all the cool tones!
In general I’m not a cool metallics fan for myself, but I think the blue/green tones are quite interesting and different for spring so I would like to give them a try.
Chromes are just sooo hard to apply, I’m never satisfied with the way they turn out. Boo. I’m not excited about any of these.
Green chrome? I’m in!
It’s tarotbydiana. The open id won’t link me at the moment.
Not wild about these. Might grow on me later, though!
Ohhh, Im
I dont like chrome/metallic finishes- but Im psyched about the summer collection!
Can you post the names of these?!?! (if you have them?)
OH MY DOG! I have to have the Cool colors! *DROOL*
i love these colors!!
These are really pretty, and from the pics, it looks like their application is smoother than most chrome finishes. I look forward to your swatches!
I don’t like any of them because I hate the chrome finish of them.
I am definitely saving my pennies! This and the summer collection look amazing!
I love nearly every one! Chrome-finish polishes usually are such a pain to apply well, but these look well worth the effort. Can’t wait!
I’d have to see them on to know what I think, though I must say the green on the last row is looking interesting..
HELP!I like a lot on the last image that dark gray from the left on the last finger.
What is the color name???
It’s a very dark gray wow!!
Astasia
Sally Beauty Supply in Louisville has got these. I got the dark gray (which is called Awaken, Astasia). I haven’t tried it out yet; hoping it goes on less blue than Lippmann Hit Me With Your Best Shot–although the finish is still very different, chrome rather than microglitter. These are on the CG site so you can get their names. It’s a nice looking collection, here’s to seeing how they apply!
Many thanks Moeysullivan!! The Awaken will be mine!!
I’m still debating over getting these or not. Your swatches help. I’m glad TransDesign linked to you pictures.
