Golden Globes Nail Watch – Amanda Seyfried
Now I haven’t seen all the films of 2008 but compared to the ones I did, Mamma Mia is definitely my favorite of the year. My BFF turned me into an ABBA fanatic back in my late teens when he would play songs from ABBA Gold while we hung out after work. And I rushed off to see the stage version of Mamma Mia when it came to the Cleveburg, dancing in the isles with the crowd at the end.
Needless to say, when I had the opportunity to see an advanced screening of the movie version ofMamma Mia last summer, I was giddy with excitement. Even in a room full of media folk there was laughter, clapping and cheering including full out applause at the end. Truly fantastic! The biggest surprise of the movie… the gorgeous and talented Amanda Seyfried. Who knew this girl that I’d only seen playing a ditzy blonde (Mean Girls), a dead BFF (Veronica Mars) and a mormon teen (Big Love) had such a voice? She’s pretty magical in the role, especially with Meryl Streep by her side.
Well, on the red carpet at last night’s Golden Globes she certainly glowed all on her own. Amanda was a vision with beautiful berry lips, heavily lined eyes and deep burgundy tips. Even though I’m not a matchy-matchy girl when it comes to nails, it works on her.
I recommend OPI We’ll Always Have Paris ($4.48 on 8ty8Beauty.com) or Misa Love Bite ($3.00 on Head2ToeBeauty.com) to get the look at home.
Essie Rock Star Skinny will also do the trick. Looks pretty lame in the bottle, looks splendid on. It’s a little browner than traditional burgundy, but it was a huge surprise on the tips–really fine.
I actually think that she's a good, underrated actress. And I like the nails :>
I would also say OPI’s “Yes I Can-Can” — love the color!
Love this color — looks like a raspberry!
She is damn hot.
BPO work from home
MoeySullivan – I was thinking that might be too light and shimmery but it’s certainly in the same color family.
Phyrra – I agree with you, she is underrated. She should definitely sing some more. Not to knock Brittany Snow but she probably would have been a great Amber in Hairspray.
GG – I’m glad you agree.
Luxaholics_steph – You don’t see a lot of those deep berry tones on celebs. It’s like they go for black, gray, red or pale. It’s a nice change of pace
It’s not, that’s what’s weird about it. Maybe it’s because I am pale. I mean, that stuff doesn’t even look very good in the bottle but it is awesome on. If they hadn’t let me swatch it I would never have bought it. Anyway, thanks soooo much!
That shade of burgundy looks awesome with her coloring and the color of her dress. And matching her tips to her toes gives her an allover sophisticated, pulled-together look. Mind you, I don’t think it would have worked as well with another color – say, red instead of burgundy.
