Amazing Discoveries – The Nail Polish Pendant
Like infomercial legend, Mike Levy and his crazy sweaters, I have found THE discovery for us nail polish fanatics. Get out your Depends kids, you’re gonna need them.
How many times have we described a polish as being jewel-like or having a jewel tone? And I know I can’t be the only one who has tried to coordinate polish with my favorite gemstones. I mean, haven’t you ever wished your favorite shade was jewelry? Wish no more! My genius pal and fellow MUA’er Tracey from Ginger Kitty Designs has found a way to make that dream a reality. That’s right, we’re talking nail polish AS jewelry. Think I’m talking nonsense, read on to see what I mean. |
Twitter followers and Facebook friends will recall my little freak out last Friday over a package I received in the mail. Wonder no more for this is what sent me into a frenzy. Tracey shipped her first batch of nail polish pendants, just in time for my cruise and needless to say, they’re stunning.
What exactly are these nail polish pendants? Well, Tracey discovered a way to encapsulate nail polish in a pendant. It’s sealed with a resin to give a glass like finish, making the polish appear like some rare, unique stone. Being the green queen that I am, Tracey turned two of my fave emerald shades into jewels using Barielle Date Night and Sinful San Francisco. Images really don’t do them justice as they are beyond fantabulous in person. I showed them off at work before leaving and everyone was raving.
And finally, the special gem that Tracey has dubbed, The Happy Accident. While making a pendant using Sinful What’s Your Name? a drop of Sinful Green Ocean dripped on top, creating something totally unique. A happy accident indeed!
OK so are you totally dying for a nail polish pendant of your very own. Well then hop on over to Tracey’s Etsy shop, Ginger Kitty Designs where she has a listing of all the her pendant polish choices or you can discuss creating your own custom design.
All this amazingness for only $35. Can you even handle it? Rush on over and place an order today!
WOW!! She even has some from discarded HELLO KITTY MAC boxes!!! I’m in love!
That "happy accident" is bad ass!! These are amazing! I've actually had the pleasure of Tracey custom making a bracelet for me with my kids names on them & it is absolutely stunning. Tracey is super professional and does an awesome job! I think I'm going to need some of these pendants!!
That is amazing!!! I can’t even begin to think what I would want. Probably too many. I will have to go on that web site for sure.
wow – totally unique! what a fab idea – so you tell them what color you want and then they send it to you?
Wow! Those are gorgeous! I was trying to picture them after you told me about them and my imagination didn’t do them justice at all!

That’s so cool. I use black nail polish for the background when I suspend things in resin all the time, but that never occurred to me.
Okay…I’m headed to her site right now. I can’t believe this! She’s a genius! Super fabulousness!!!
WOW. I have been looking for a unique piece of jewelry for FOREVER, and this seems perfect!

OMG! I can’t breathe. I want…like 10 of them. I’m wearing Barielle’s Date Night today for the first time and I can’t even stand how gorgeous this color is. I’ve gotten so many compliments. That pendant is AMAZING.
O, my, gosh, how cool is that?!
Thank you CincyFan for the wonderful article I have received so many emails from your readers saying they are having trouble just picking one color for the nail polish pendants! So just for your readers (until 4/5/09), I am offering the pendants buy one, get the second 1/2 off Just use the contact seller link on the etsy site and use the code ALU and I will create a custom order at the adjusted price. Thank you! Tracey
I love nail polishes and like to experiment with my nail paints. This is quite an interesting posting and I would have loved to see them on my nails.
