Geek Eye for the Sloppy Guy’s Nail Tips
This one’s for all my male nail polish fanatics out there.
To this day, one of my most commented on posts is the Fanatic Feedback question regarding Men Wearing Nail Polish. I love reading your passionate responses to the subject, both positive and negative. And that people are still commenting, only shows what a hotbed subject it is. Also, between the emails and comments, I discovered that I have more male fans than I realize. *waves to the men*
So when I stumbled across a post from tech geek Chris Pirillo, I just had to share. He has a whole series of “how to” beauty tips for men he calls Geek Eye for the Sloppy Guy and while the accompanying video is a bit long, his goofball style is charming enough to keep me from clicking “pause”.

Keeping my nail with no white showing…that’s how I do it actually. (And I am a girl)
I use a big (toe) nail clipper for my hands just because they have more strength and give a more square tip…
I think I just wet myself a little bit………..
ROFL – I married a Geek too. They can be very entertaining ;]
Good intentions, but I have to disagree. I give my hubby manis, and I *always* leave a bit on the tips – several millimeters, at least! There are many uses for a bit of nail (especially for someone who plays guitar!). I always file everything smooth, though, which may be vital to the equation.
I too appreciate you considering the possibility that not all guys are unaware of the beenfits of making oneselve more ‘interesting’ and having a little fun too.
Let’s face it, when you see a guy and gal together, she usually has her hair and makeup done, she is wearing some colorful stylish clothes and usually some nice jewelry – all to help make her more attractive and intriguing. Meanwhile, the guy looks prety plain, maybe even a little on the ‘grubbly’ side, possibly unshaven and very ‘plain’ in contrast to her.
So why shouldn’t men take a little more interest in being creative and showing a little more diversity in their attire? In my case, my feet really benefit from the extra attention and color.
I really enjoy the discussions you bring up here, and I have certainly learned a lot from many of you too! And the subject about men wearing nail polish is popular because you helped make it a ‘safe’ environment for all of us to get our opinions out there and compare.
I will continue to be a fan of your blog since I think you do a great job of treating everyone like the diverse and intersting bunch that we are – with a common interest!
I’d just like to say that I won a trip to Beverly Hills from Essie. It includes manicures for two with Love Beverly Hills.
I’m taking my husband. We’re going to get pedicures as well. Hope it’s a photo op!
