NOTD – Barielle Berry Blue
Berry Blue is a smooth as butter navy creme. On the first coat you can see a bit of OPI Glacier Bay Blues tealishness but after the second coat it’s a deep and pure blue. It does lean towards that blue-black territory when you’re not in day/sunlight but for the most part you can always tells it’s blue.
China Glaze Calypso Blue from the Bahama Blues collection is Berry Blues closest living relative. The main difference is that CB dries a bit darker. It would take a fanatic to tell the difference so if you already own CB you probably don’t need Berry Blue but I’m not giving away my bottle any time soon!
Berry Blue retails for $8 on Barielle.com and their ongoing Buy Two Get One Free promotion means you can get three polishes for a little over $5/ea. If you need some enabling, check out my past Barielle reviews.
That IS a beautiful blue! Thanks for adding the swatch comp. of CB. I already have CB on my wishlist, so (as tempting as it is) I probably don't need both.
Another gorgeous color I'll probably never get a chance to buy.
Barielle needs to start shipping their polish to the EU (I'm in Italy).
what are some of the other Barielle Shades colors recommended by elle?
The color's fabulous. As much as I like Illamasqua's "Propaganda" I might just go with Barielle's and convince myself they're similar enough.
Looks incredibly similar to Bourjois' So Laque! blue mysterieux.
Denette – I agree, you only need one. I think I prefer the formula on the Barielle a little bit better but they're both great.
Flavia – I'll cross my fingers for Italian distribution.
Anon – let's see umm, Nauti-Gal, Sweet Addiction, Monique Jet, Coco Bar and Date Night (of course). Those are just off the top of my head.
Crotchfairy – OMG you and me both on the Propaganda love. I SO want to get my hands on that.
Rachel – You know I've never seen Bourjois polish. Where do you buy it from?
Bourjois is sold in drugstores (and sometimes dept stores) in Europe and Asia. I hope you can get your hands on some of the polishes – Bourjois is so underrated!
