Rescue Beauty Lounge Fall 2009 Blogger Created Collection
If the amazing Ji Baek, founder of Rescue Beauty Lounge, asked you to create your dream polish what would you do? After picking yourself up off the floor of course. All fainting aside, that was the honor/privilege/challenge bestowed upon myself and fellow nail bloggers Polish Addict and Scrangie. If I do say so myself, we rose to the occasion contributing to one knockout of a Fall collection. We didn’t set out to create a matched set but my purple, Steph’s green and Scrangie’s sparkling mix of the two is a green & purple lovers delight. Check them out along with Rescue’s new Matte Top Coat after the jump! |
Now that Steph is back to posting and has had a chance to reveal her creation, I can show you my swatches of the set. As per usual, the consistency and pigmentation of all three shades live up to Rescue’s amazing reputation. I know of no other cremes that are so spot on in application, coverage and finish. It’s unreal!
You’ve seen Mismas before but a reader commented that my original image didn’t do the color any favors so here is take two. Seriously you guys I NEVER wear polishes more than once. With as many as I have it doesn’t make sense. But I have had Mismas on my toes or fingers for pretty much the entire summer, I love it that much. I wanted the perfect purple creme and now I have it. Ji, I love you for creating her. She’s simply spectacular!
Here’s my girl with Ji’s new Matte Top Coat. The formula is milky in appearance and is one of the most mattifying top coats I’ve tried. It gives a frosted glass look and the milkiness lightens the hue ever so slightly.
When I heard Steph from Polish Addict was creating a grayed green creme, I knew without even seeing it that Orbis Non Sufficit and I would be lifelong friends. It’s just dusty enough to stand out among every other green I own.
I think I like it even better as a Matte. What about you? One word of caution with matte top coats. They are very unforgiving in regards to imperfections so use just a few quick, even strokes for a smooth finish.
Images really don’t do Scrangie justice. You have to see the blue-green shimmer in person to truly appreciate it. According to Scrangie, the inspiration was a beetle wing. The bluish-purple base is filled with iridescent shimmer and glitter to create one blingtastic polish.
Of all three polishes in this collection I think Scrangie makes the best Matte. Maybe it’s just me but I prefer to mattify shimmer/glitter polishes. It’s like you’re freezing the sparkle in time or something.
The Blogger created Fall 2009 collection from Rescue Beauty Lounge is available for Pre-Order NOW and will ship very, very soon. The polishes and Matte Top Coat retail for $18/ea. If you don’t want to miss out on any of these colors, I suggest you order as soon as possible as the polishes are limited edition.
So what do you think Fanatics?? How did we do? Which polishes do you plan to order? Will these be your first RBLs or just additions to your growing stash?
WOWZERS!!!!!!
Pure Love!
LOVE them all!
Love them all, but Mismas is a must!
They are all gorgeous!!! In your opinion, is ONS similar to Orly Enchanted Forest?
I have never in my LIFE paid that much for a nail polish, but I HAVE to have Mismas! Just pre-ordered!
So pleasing to see them all together! Best wishes on your new polish!
I love the way the three colors look matte. Is the matte topcoat self-leveling?
I pre-ordered Mismas and Scrangie literally the minute I got the RBL insider e-mail last month and I have been chomping at the bit for my order to arrive ever since. I'm especially crazy anxious now that its officially mid August and according to the insider e-mail that is when this collection would be available. I've been watching my inbox like a hawk for a shipping confirmation and tracking number. That's how excited I am to finally get my hands on Mismas and Scrangie too, but especially Mismas! You seriously made my dream polish. Now I just wish it would hurry up and get here ASAP!
Ai! the matte green is just like a chalkboard! i can see it with some little white or yellow "chalk" nail art numbers/letters/equations on it. excite!
wow! i LOVE your shade in shiny and matte. it's absolutely gorgeous!
I love & follow all 3 of these blogs, I love all three of these polishes. I'll probably pick up at least 1 of these colors to add to my very small RBL collection. It's going to be a tough choice but I'll see what my collection of nail polish is missing and let that be my guide.
I've already pre-ordered Mismas and Orbis. I was undecided about Scrangie as I don't like iridiscent shimmer, duochromes and such, but now I'm in doubt. It's such gorgeous it looks like fairy wings. Hmmm I might splurge!
I think they are all absolutely gorgeous – well done ladies!
I've been hesitant, I've just never spent that much on a bottle of polish before, but I do believe these will soon be my first RBLs. Every time I see them I just want them more & I know they're limited so I've got to hurry up & make my move!
Can the matte topcoat be used with any brand?
I ordered all three last month. I can't wait till they come. Now I wish I had ordered the matte top coat. They all look amazing matte. Congrats on making such a beautiful polish.
I ordered all 3…my wallet is screaming! BUT if they weren't created by bloggers that have entertained me for years I would not have gotten them.
Purple is my favorite color and Mismas is absolutely beautiful! By any chance can you do a comparison of the RBL matte top coat with Essie Matte About You?
OMG those purple and green colors look gorgeous. I also like purple a lot and I think it look great on my nails. Right now I'm wearing Cassis from Peggy Sage, but I like your purple more.I want to try out that green, I've never had green on my nails, I'm curious how it will look.
Wow, the matte top coat is so gorgeous! any possibility to shop it in Europe? Otherwise shipping costs are 38$, ouch…
Oh no – I thought they’d keep them in their permanent collection even though I read “Limited Edition.” I must stock up as I don’t have Mismas yet and need backups. Thanks! BTW, I know you’re cold in Cleveburg, but here in Houston this Arctic Blast is killing we Texans! I know, we have nothing to complain about – LOL!
Lucky, I made sure to get Mismas as soon as I found out about it’s existence. It’s an amazing color and I love it, Michelle!
What do you do with all the polishes, since you only wear them once? Any chance you would do a giveaway on ALU? (Hint, hint!);)
Thanks for your suggestion. I would just be too hard to do a giveaway for something like this. I posted in December about how I sold all my excess products for charity. I raised $700 and donated the money to Dress for Success.
Oh how I’d wish they’d do a repeat of all three. Mismas and ONS are still there (thankfully) but no more Scrangie. I was late to the game folks. Anyone have an extra they’d like to part with?
