Coming Soon – StrangeBeautiful Color Cubes

strangebeautiful, strange beautiful, library of color, volume 3, nail polish, nail lacquerWhen I first posted the StrangeBeautiful Volume 3 library quite a few of you commented about how you wish the polishes were sold separately. That dropping $79 for a whole set was a rather hefty investment for a new-to-you brand. I totally get that rationale, especially if your polish buying budget is limited.

Enter the StrangeBeautiful Color Cubes. StrangeBeautiful creator Jane Schub has ingeniously encased two shades from past Volumes in lucite cubes. See the full selection of Color Cubes after the jump!

The just launched STRANGEBEAUTIFUL Color Cube encasing two SB “Richly Perverse” colors in a deliciously sleek and chunky handmade Lucite Cube is akin to a miniature piece of modern furniture for the boudoir or bookshelf.

What I find unique about the cubes is that you can’t remove the bottles. You just unscrew the cap to apply. I wonder if this makes them unbreakable. If the cube protects the bottles should you accidentally knock it over. It’s like polish bottle armor.

Available Library of Color inspiration Duos include:

Redrope/A Good Eraser Duo

Dia Pink/ Federalist Orange Duo

Never Ending Deep Lake Blue/ J. Herbin Black Violette Duo

The StrangeBeautiful Color Cubes will be available at LuckyScent.com and retail for $25/ea.

So who’s jumping in on these? The Blue/Violette combo is calling my name and I don’t know why but looking at the Pink/Orange duo made that Legally Blonde quote pop in my head. “Whoever said orange is the new pink is seriously disturbed!” Any thoughts from the peanut gallery? Sound off Fanatics!

The way the caps sit right next to each other looks like it would make them hard to open? But I think it's a fun idea to package the colors together, I just don't know if I want them quite THAT together LOL.

Pricey, but oh, so beautiful – & makes you realize what a bargain the sets are. I'll definitely be checking them out – are these the only 3 pairs or will there be more?

I prefer my polishes freestanding… it would just annoy me. Imagine trying to paint and that other lid is in the way each time?

  4. candita says:

Hmm, tempting… just wondering if the bottles being attached to the cubes might make it a little awkward to apply… but I'll definitely be thinking about that last combo!

  5. Stef says:

Sorry, I'll be passing on these. $25 is still a big chunk of change. The cube idea is cool, but the colors aren't speaking to me.

  6. Jenny R. says:

Are these new colors or are they previously existing colors that are now available in duos? I already have collections one and two and don't want to accidentally buy duplicates.

  7. tina says:

eh, i'll give them credit for being unique, however i dont think it will function as well as having single bottles. can you imagine trying to polish your nails when one of the colors is half empty, yet the other is still full? tilting it would be tricky. Anyhow, besides the awkwardness, it is still pricy. $75 for all three sets, might as well spend that extra $4 for the volume set. 6 polish colors vs 8, i'd rather buy the later, although not definitely. The colors arent really calling to me. Strange yes….beautiful….not exactly. Thanks for the post, as always. you rock! btw, i'm on my second bottle of mismas! I hope RBL lets you do more colors. =)

  8. Lucy says:

I don't like that you can't get them out of the cube. I have both collections. I have to get the third. I love the colors. They are all quite gorgeous.

  9. Rivoli says:

Can you take them out of the cube/ package? Love this concept. The second one looks gorgeous

Honestly…this just seems silly to me. Why can't they just have individual colors…? It just doesn't make sense. While the design seems cool, it also looks impractical the way the caps are so close together.

  11. Anonymous says:

Too bad they picked such boring colors for most of the sets. Even as a "package" these are still a little too spendy.

  12. Beana says:

$25 is too rich for my blood. Neat colors but…no

    weeeeeeeell…
these cubes look cute and exciting, BUT: not too sure about the strength of the lucite case. when I finally got my library #3 in its sleek and sexy big lucite box, one of the end bottles had simply cracked and all of its contents had spilled inside the box, glueing everything together. took quite some time (and a bottle of np remover) To pry open and to separate the bottles so I could use them. Thankfully the one that broke was the one I loved least (rusty bog, or was it armagnac?). I'm still considering whether I should leave the spilled and dried np on the other bottles or not – looks quite mad max-y…
nevertheless my advice is to go on a no-buy for a few months and get the libaries instead, the colors are so worth it, and even more exciting IRL than on the swatches (and yes they're hawt with matte tc) XO

Why package colors that are so similar to each other??

  15. amy says:

I like the design of the bottle, as it is unique. I also quite like the Dia Pink/Federalist Orange duo, it looks nice together actually.

  16. pam says:

I was just thinking the same question as everyone else about the difficulties with the 2 caps … thanks to the person who posted about the cracked case :)

I saw these in at Luckyscent, but I'm a bit hesitant to make the leap without swatches. Any chance that you'll be posting some?

  18. Lo says:

I wish there was a STRANGEBEAUTIFUL swapping club where you could switch out some colors from the volumes. I know that probably sounds bad – but not all colors look good on all skin tones!!
