Look Who's Quoted In November's Glamour…
That’s right, it’s me. Sorry for the shameless self-promotion Fanatics. I can’t help but giddy over seeing my name in print and sharing it with you. November’s Glamour is already on stands, even though it’s barely October, and yours truly is quoted on Page 72.
My girl Andrea Lustig, Glamour’s Q&A Queen, asked me about my fave alternatives to the traditional, dark fall polish shades. Not to brag but I’m naturally in love with Barielle Slate of Affairs from the All Lacquered Up collection I created with Elle. Andrea also mentions her current love for the ombre/gradation look I showed you. Great minds, ha! Check out the article below! |
So Fanatics, what are your favorite alternatives to dark polish for fall? Have any of you tried the ombre manicure yet? I saw a gorgeous version by Nihrida on MUA using China Glaze Bermuda Breakaway and Agent Lavender.
Congratulations! You deserve the appreciation for all your hard work! Thanks for all you do.
Sweet! Congratulations!!!
That is very very cool to be mentioned in such a popular magazine!!
If I were in the pages of Glamour, I'd be screaming from the rooftops! Enjoy it Michelle!!!
Right now I'm loving the dark polishes, I can't get enough! I don't wear pink polish, so I won't be wearing that one though.
I'm still sooo in love with dark nail polish. =]
Congrats, that said its only credit where credit is due – we all love your blog and the more people that know about it the better I reckon! Who wouldnt be seriously proud to see their name in print, blimey I was blown away when you mentioned me and the poll on who had previously been a nail biter, it completely made my day! As for nail varnish, dyed my hair auburn last night and now really want a dark chocolate with a subtle gold shimmer to go with it – but limited to what I can get here in West Yorkshire!
Congrats! I really love the shades you suggested–I'm over the dark polishes, too.
Congrats on the Glamour mention! That is so very exciting.
This fall I find myself reaching for neutrals and moody nudes. My faves have been SOPI Nonfat Soy Half Caff and OPI Barefoot in Barcelona.
When I want something dark, this season I'm wearing CC Fast Woman. It's perfect in that it wears like a vamp indoors and at night, but lights up deep red in the sunlight.
I can't seem to let go of the dark polish! I've been wearing it so long. I remember my love affair with dark polish began back in the 90's when Revlon released Vixen as a cheap alternative for the uber popular Vamp. Then I remember siting at my BFF's house every Wednesday watching 90210 and loving the dark nails that the girls would sport back then. The original 90210! Ahhhh, to be 19 again!
Moral of the story…I still love my Vampies!!!
Congratulations!
Yes, I love the ombre manicure! Inspired by you and Nihrida, I tried it the other day, and it's so much fun!

shameless promotion nothing! That is amazing and I when I read it, I said, "I virtually know her!"
Congrats on the article. That is quite an accomplishment!
The Barielle colors are beautiful. I see that they are Big 3 free, but I could not determine if they contained Formaldehyde Resin. Do you have that info?
Thanks!
i was just reading this magazine last night and I saw your name and I got so excited, I was like "I know her"!!! I'm addicted to your blog
Check out people.com they have a section called Nailed It! It's celebrities flaunting their manis and pedis!!!
Ah-mazing and well deserved!
Only it's tidbits like these that remind me how tragically unhip I am. Dark polish is uncool? But I only just learned about it!
