All Lacquered Up Fanatic Favorites 2011 – The Winners
Notice anything different? How could you not, ha! In conjunction with announcing the Fanatic Favorites 2011 Winners I launched a new look for ALU.
It’s all part of my 5 year blogiversary celebration, which was delayed due to my back injury. After five years with the same look, a makeover was definitely in order. I hope you love it as much as I do.
Now on to the awards. A record number of you took the time to vote for your favorite nail products of 2011 and I can’t thank you enough. With over 4,000 responses there were some nail biters and some clear favorites that smashed the competition. Keep reading to see if your favorites came out on top.

Congratulations to all the winners. I hope your faves were triumphant. ALU readers definitely have great taste as a lot of colors and brands that I adore got your love. Later this week I’ll be sharing my picks for the best of 2011.
So did you discover any new products or colors you want to try due to the survey? Are there any fan fave colors that you think were snubbed or forgotten? If you have suggestions to improve next year’s survey leave a comment or feel free to email me your ideas.
I love the new look! Those pools of polish up on the left are so pretty!! I’m excited to check out some of the faves that I’ve never tried before. I had no idea CG For Audrey had so much of a following. I hope the weight watchers is going well and your back is better. I’m struggling with staying motivated, but lately I’ve been doing my nails instead of incessant snacking. The threat of wrecking my newly polished nails is a good at stopping me from browsing the cupboards.
Thank you so much for asking. Weight Watchers is going great. I’m down 44 pounds and working towards my goal. My back has some bad days but for the most part I’m functioning normally. Wet polish definitely prevents me from reaching into a bag of snack food. Maybe we should start the nail polish diet!
Thats awesome! You go, girl! That’s a serious accomplishment! I think you’re on to something with the nail polish diet. I’ll just wear chocolate themed colors when I have a craving.
I love the new look of your site! My suggestion for next year is that you pick one nomination in each category. I think it’s great that you ask us to nominate, but it may be more diverse if one of the choices in each category was your pick. I’d say RBL got snubbed, overall. I’m excited to see what your 2011 picks are, especially since we didn’t hear much from you in the latter part of the year and I’m pretty clueless about the latest collections.
I do pick one in each category. It’s the wild card added to the top five. Though I select one from the nominations and maybe next year I’ll just throw in the one color I think deserves to be there even if it didn’t get a nomination.
I think for most RBL is too hard to access – too few good color chips on line, and then way up there in the avg collectors price category. it’s a great polish they do – they just need better marketing/distribution to catch the eye of many….esp those who you have to remember love polish but live no where near cities with stores. Tons of folks live 100′s of miles from stores with malls and big stores that carry RBL to even look at. Their on line presence is really hard to tell what their colors look like.
Agreed. I love RBL and am glad I can get it easily, but that’s not the case for many other people compared to some of the larger, more widely distributed brands.
Oooh lots of ideas! How cool! I am somewhat surprised that Nubar didn’t make it into any of the top categories.
Can’t wait to see your own picks!
Absolutely LOVE your new design! Light and refreshing – well done! And congratulations! (On the new design and the 5 yearsaversary!)
Oh, and thank you for putting this list together! Very inspirational to see, what other people find brilliant
We need to cllectively break out from the OPI ghetto
Love the new layout, it’s super cute! And Yey For Audrey as I adore that color
It amazes me how it just keeps getting so much attention year after year. I love it too so not bashing the shade at all.
LOVE the new website design!!!!!!!!! I LOVE purple and green together, and this is just gorgeous! I had a lot of popular picks in the voting, but I think I am as excited by the new page as I am to see my faves become winners!
That’s so sweet, thank you!
I think Butter London was the only winner/top 3 that matched my vote this year. Love this annual event though, totally satisfies my curiosities about what polishers are loving!
Everything looks great!
For Audrey again? Really? Yawn. There are betters colors from this family. I got rid of my bottle of For Audrey.
Can’t agree more with the results here Be nice to see a wider-range/less OPI domination next time though x
I’ve been waiting on pins and needles for this! Pretty pleased with all of the winners. Although I think Deborah Lippmann needs more love. I think 2012 might be her year.
Wow. This is great. Thanks for an interesting survey. LOVE LOVE LOVE the new banner design. Feels refreshing!
I don’t think anything I voted for won :). That’s actually great news, because it means everyone else will be chasing after the stuff I don’t want, leaving more of the stuff I want for me!!
I have a tiny nail polish collection but in it, I own Russian Navy. I LOVE that color on my toes!
For some reason, I can’t see the new site design! Still looks the same as always to me. Is anyone else experiencing this?
As far as the list goes, a lot of my picks made it! Who keeps voting for For Audrey though??? Sheesh!
That’s so odd. You’re not alone but I believe most people can see it. Try doing a hard refresh of the page or clearing your cache.
I refreshed about ten times and now I see it! Beautiful!
LOVE the new look!! I had fun voting and reading the final results of the Fantastic Favorites of 2011. Thank you for all that you do. <3
Good to see my picks are also popular with everyone else! I think I’m going to need to add DL ATU, Warm and Fozzie and OPI Ink to my collection soon
I don’t see the new design at all!
You may need to do a hard refresh of the page. I know most people can see it.
Awesome, I loved reading the results! Justifies my need to have so many polishes lol
Thanks so much for leading us! I really enjoyed nominating and then voting. I like Orly, but when you ask for favorites, then Orly never seemed to be my number 1. I still insist orange lovers should try OPI Melon of Troy!
Very interesting results compared to other years – good to see the stranglehold that OPI has had previously is loosening somewhat.
I love OPI but there are so many other brands out there that deserve the love as well. I admit to being surprised that RBL didn’t feature more, given the fanatical following on Facebook and the stellar collections Ji has released of late, but it was refreshing to see Cult Nails and A-England shining through.
Yay some of my faves won!! LOVE the new blog makeover :))
Many of my favourites are on this list and some that I still need to try.
Great post! Thanks!
You’ve been in my prayers. I hope your back is getting better & be careful when you go out in this Cleveland snow! I LOVE your new look! Here’s to a wonderful 2012! xo
I know readers are getting tired of seeing OPI in the top, but for alot of people OPI is the most accessible line next to drugstore brands.
I always love this! It’s so much fun to see what’s on everyone else’s lists!
Loving the new look. Just enough change to freshen the blog up- but still recognizable! Good work!
Thanks for tabulating all of the results!
Grrrr…I couldn’t get my hands on Warm & Fozzie at all. Looked for it everywhere. Shame. The results are on point. Agree about 95% of the results.
I saw it today at CosmoProf. If you have a way of getting in there, it’s available!
Lots of my votes came in tops or 2nd. I am going to try looking at these results, switching to my bottle of Orly Bonder vs. my Orly Nail Armor I have been using, not for the ridge filling, but to give a slight little neutral base shade to make my polish shade look perfectly true. Love to see some of the old time favs continuing to be favs. Not surprised AT ALL that flakies is a hit here. I have been saying for about 6 months now, 2012 was going to be the year of the flakies with us seeing many of the cheaper polish companies put them out like they have with the glitter craze. Thanks for the work you do on this each year – I look forward to it always.
LOVE the new look. Very fresh looking.
Loving the new look page
Love the new site!! Especially the drops of polish at the top – gotta love the green and purple! Seeing how many top picks For Audrey got makes me want it even more! I can’t get it where I live, but I know I need it in my life despite the 6 different shades of turquoise I already own!
You left out the most important category of all! Next time, add a category entitled, “Favorite discontinued polish you’d wish would be brought back” Love to get an idea if others feel the same way I do.
Great idea, thanks for the suggestion!!
Very nice blog. I love OPI that my favorite products, but you have many other brands,so with product that people like most?
There are a few winners there that I definitely need to check out.
Awesome and thank you for bringing us this along with five years of nail polish blog.
Nice to see A-England and the flakies made it! I wonder what will make it this year (big glitter particles & more indie polish as a trend?), are you considering doing a 2012 Best?
