FingerPaints Bare No Secrets and Our Tips Are Tealed from A Pair Affair by All Lacquered Up
They say parents shouldn’t pick favorites among their children. And when it comes to my FingerPaints “A Pair Affair” nail polish collection for Sally Beauty, the colors are like my children. Hell, they took much longer than nine months to birth. Regardless, I can’t help but be biased towards Our Tips Are Tealed. It’s my FAVORITE!!
Shh, don’t tell the other kids I said that. Oh right, they can’t hear me! Anyway, Our Tips Are Tealed is the total star of this nail polish show and, as proud as I am of all the shades in the collection, it has the strongest hold on my heart.
Its more grounded counterpart, Bare No Secrets, is chic and understated but with personality. See how they play off each other in a twist on the traditional French Manicure.
Formula & Application: FingerPaints is 5-Free and produced exclusively for Sally Beauty. The FingerPaints bottle is unique in that it’s kind of an oblong shape (remember The Oblongs) with a long, slender, slightly taped cap. The brush is long, thin and flexible. It reminds me of the old OPI brush which is probably why so many of us speculated that OPI made FingerPaints back in the day.
Both shades have a creamy texture that is easy to control. OTAT looks a bit thin on the first coat but after two coats, you have full coverage. It also dries a bit flat, with texture from the glitter, but perks right up with top coat. BNS is also well pigmented but may require three coats. I found that it isn’t the best at self-leveling so use care in application.
FingerPaints Bare No Secrets is a sandy tan with a hint of pink in its shimmery base. The cool base tone is evened out with flecks of gold glitter. Combined they make for a pretty universally flattering neutral with a kick of sparkle for fun.
FingerPaints Our Tips Are Tealed is a be-still-my-heart twinkling teal. It leans towards emerald but has its roots firmly planted in teal territory. Between the metallic foil flecks and sparkling traditional glitter, it’s one blingtastic party. Pictures really can’t do this color justice. It just leaps out at you from the bottle. Trust!
When I created each duo, I had a vision of how they would be worn together. For me, I always picture this set worn in a mani-pedi combination. Perfect for the woman who wants to keep it subdued and neutral on her hands yet have a party on her toes. Since I’m not about to visually harass you with my feet, this multi-colored manicure will have to do.
If you’re looking for a nail art idea to try. I like a Sideways French manicure with these shades. I originally thought teal French tips on the sandy base would be good but it just wasn’t feeling it as much as this. All you need is a French tip guide sticker to make it happen.
The FingerPaints “A Pair Affair” by All Lacquered Up nail polish collection is available NOW at SallyBeauty.com and will be at Sally Beauty stores nationwide September 2013. FingerPaints nail polish retails for $5.29/ea and is exclusive to Sally Beauty so you can only buy it at the stores or online at SallyBeauty.com. Now that you’ve seen all the duos, which pair is your favorite? How would you wear Our Tips Are Tealed and Bare No Secrets?

Oh, it’s hard to pick a favorite!! I’m a purple girl at heart, so I love the purple, but I LOVE all of them!! I will definitely be buying ALL of them.
That’s so flattering to hear. I hope you love them all as much as I do.
To be honest, when I saw the bottles, I wasn’t really feeling any of them. However, after seeing your nail swatches, I am in LOVE with most of the collection! The Nautical set has to be my favorite, but I also really really like the nude from this set. Those will probably be my buys.
The purple and teal are gorgeous, but not really my style. I really think you did an exceptional job! Hopefully someday you’ll be able to get the perfect yellow to materialize, because I’d love to see what you could do with it.
Thank you Laura! I’m so glad you like them. I would love to make that yellow happen too
I LOVE this duo!
Thanks Michelle!
Beautiful!! I’m going to have to track these down when they come out!
Thanks Emily! They’re online now so I hope that means they’ll be in stores in the next week or so.
This collection is fantastic. I think I need every one of them!
Thanks Diane! I won’t argue with that
The Our Tips Are Tealed looks gorgeous! I love the sideways French manicure — very unique
Thank you! I can’t take credit for it. I saw it on Instagram or Pinterest.
Love bare no secrets. Looks close to Butter London’s all hail the queen?
I only have the original version, All Hail McQueen, but the base color is much cooler than Bare No Secrets
Is this collection LE or part of the permanent collection?
Hi Lillian! It’s LE so once it’s gone, it’s gone
Sarong So Right and You Yacht to Know Better! Getting them all, but if I had to choose two those two would definitely be it.
I love that combo as well. Thanks for all the support. It means so much
I love (and I mean luuuuuuuuuurve!) this teal but it’s just a tiny bit too green… my absolute fave is the couple grape&sage, so very perfect for the coming fall, it looks like a bunch of grapes peeking from behind the grape leaves! (I had my friend make me a Cernit grape and leaves necklace-and-earrings in exactly those colors, and it’s beautiful….)
I could just wear it with those two enamels…. mmmmhhhh…..
It may not look that green in person. I say give it a shot if you love teal.
hah, OF COURSE I surely will! Teal is my all-time fave nail color! you’ve been fantastic, they are all good choices!
I love this sideways French mani, so cool! Our Tips are Tealed is definitely my favorite of the bunch!
Thanks Pam!
Both colors are gorgeous (actually the entire line is gorgeous, really), but my favorite is Bare No Secrets. It seems so simple but a pretty neutral polish isn’t that easy to find. Maybe it’s because I need a cool base like this one. Anyway, I am going to be stalking Sally’s for this one for sure.
I love your concept of coordinating polishes because that’s something I always try to do, too.
Thanks Sharon! It is hard to find a great neutral. I hope this one will work for a lot of people.
haha, of all the colors in that collection, Bare No Secrets was the only one I bought xD
I have them all on order @ Sally.
Awesome! I hope you love them as much as I do.
I like them all!!!
Thanks Terri!
I just ordered all 6. I cannot wait for them to arrive!!
Wow, that’s amazing. Thank you so much. Please let me know what you think when they arrive.
Got them all ordered from Sally through your site. High anticipation to see and use them. Don’t know which I will have to use first.
Thank you so much Jacquelyn! I really hope you love them and will share pics once you get them.
Hi!
My local Sally’s has all the items on their shelve. I picked up Bare no Secrets today. Very pretty color.
That’s so exciting. Thank you for sharing and supporting the collection.
