FingerPaints Sarong So Right & You Yacht To Know Better from A Pair Affair by All Lacquered Up
You ready for more of the FingerPaints “A Pair Affair” collection I created for Sally Beauty? I thought so! FingerPaints Sarong So Right and You Yacht To Know Better are a nod to my boater roots. Not only is blue and coral a classic pairing but they have a very seaside feel.
I put my twist on a traditional color duo by smoking out the blue and adding some playful holographic glitter to the jelly-based coral. This pairing combines old and new and Yacht is seriously one of the most beautiful blue polishes I’ve ever seen. Call it a #humblebrag but I can’t get over how much I love this collection.
Formula & Application: FingerPaints is 5-Free and produced exclusively for Sally Beauty. The FingerPaints bottle is unique in that it’s kind of an oblong shape (remember The Oblongs) with a long, slender, slightly taped cap. The brush is long, thin and flexible. It reminds me of the old OPI brush which is probably why so many of us speculated that OPI made FingerPaints back in the day.
These polishes are both very different in terms of opacity, texture and finish so I will address application individually.
FingerPaints Sarong So Right is a punchy coral jelly with holographic, scattered glitter. It photographs more muted than it is and you can’t really see its holographic nature in this pic, but it’s there.
Unlike traditional jellies, this packs a lot of pigment but that comes with a slightly thicker viscosity. It applies smoothly and self levels but it’s not watery like you would think of with jelly polishes. Due to the glitter, you get a bit of texture but top coat wipes it out. I used two coats on two nails but needed a third on my ring finger to get it completely opaque.
FingerPaints You Yacht To Know Better is a stormy blue shimmer packed with bright blue glitter that peeks out from the mist like twinkling stars. The texture is really creamy going on the nail. Buttery if you will. It packs a ton of pigment so you only need two coats. Again, due to the glitter, it has a bit of texture without top coat.
Worn together they make for one nauti combo.
My favorite way to wear the pair, in regards to nail art, is a Chevron Manicure. I simply used a piece of blue painter’s tape at the cuticle line, over Sarong, to create the chevron shape and then polished over with Yacht. Easy peasy! Just make sure your base color is completely dry.
The FingerPaints “A Pair Affair” by All Lacquered Up nail polish collection is available NOW at SallyBeauty.com and will be at Sally Beauty stores nationwide September 2013. FingerPaints nail polish retails for $5.29/ea and is exclusive to Sally Beauty so you can only buy it at the stores or online. If you purchase online through my links, you help support this site.
So, do you like these colors? How would you wear them together? Do you like my chevron design?

Both are super gorgeous and I love the shimmer. I have to say I’m very drawn to the stormier of the two. I need fall!
I hear you! The blue is going to be perfect for the season.
Yes please!!! I’ll be picking these two up, they are gorgeous!
Thanks Stephanie!
I love the orange! Who doesn’t want a little bit of holo sparkle in their life? I’ll be picking that one up for sure!
Thanks! There is never a wrong moment for holo sparkle.
I need them, both! But unfortunately there is no shipping to Europe. Anyway, you’ve done realy good job!
That’s a shame. I wish they could make the trip across the pond.
That blue-gray is the best single polish I’ve seen all year.
Wow, I’m so flattered. Thank you for saying that.
Nice, looks like a Mets fan manicure!
Hahaha, totally unintentional but if they make for a good sports mani, all the better.
love both shades
Thank you so much!
These are beautiful! I love the coral color, the shimmer in the blue, and *jellies*!
Right? The shimmer is pretty special in Yacht
Love the chevron look!!!!
Thanks Shelly! It’s probably my fave nail art style.
This is my favorite pair! Are they in Sally yet?
Thank you! Not yet. The official date is September so I hope within the next week or two. I’ll definitely post when I see them in stores and online.
Awesome, I’ll keep an eye out
They’re available online at SallyBeauty.com now!
Sarong So Right is really gorgeous, and they look so good together!
Thank you! It may be my favorite pairing.
I love love love the chevron and the 2 colors work awesomely together!!! I can’t wait to see more colors from your collection and can’t wait to purchase them! Keep up the good work! =)
Thank you Melissa! All the colors have been posted. Enjoy!
Wow, Yacht is gorgeous. I haven’t been this excited about a shade in forever! Great job!
Thank you Claire! I really love the sparkle in it.
I will be surprised if you are not asked to come up with more of these delicious colors/textures. Hope I get to this batch before they are gone.
That would obviously be a dream come true. We’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds.
Love both, must have both! I can see the sparkles in the coral one in the other pics you posted. The twinkle in the blue one is divine. Still so excited!
Thank you! Now I need for them to be on shelves!!!
Very nice, love the chevron combo!
Thanks Pam! It’s my favorite nail art look of all three duos.
Ease of removal, as they are glittery? Your posts make me change polish often!!! Pi Love!
Aww, Pi love!! They’re actually not hard to remove. The Teal is probably the worst but not as bad as traditional glitters.
I just want to say THANK YOU! I have been on the hunt for the perfect stormy blue for more than a year. I have bought several colors but never quite found one that matched the vision in my head. Today I saw You Yacht to Know Better in Sally, and I KNEW my quest was over. THANK YOU, thank you for making the vision in my head into reality. It’s an instant favorite.
Wow Hannah! Your comment seriously brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for your kind words.
That blue is the most beautiful blue ever! Well done! Too bad us non-US polish lovers can’t get it
I’m sorry. I wish Sally Beauty was everywhere so everyone could get them.
This combo is gorgeous!
Thanks Deborah!
Bought Yacht today @ Sally’s! It is soooo pretty, pictures do not do it justice! Glad to have a piece of your collection, I may need to go back for more! (I am surprised you didn’t name it after Put in Bay)
Thanks Leissa! I’m so glad you like it. And I totally should have named a color after Put-In-Bay. Though I didn’t want the names to be so obscure that people wouldn’t get them.
