Mark your calendars because the premiere of Nail’d It is less than a week away. The nail art competition pits 18 up-and-coming nail artists against each other for a $100,000 prize. If you love nails, you have to tune in.

The battle begins on October 7th at 9/8c on Oxygen.

To kick off the first episode, I’m co-hosting a Twitter party on October 7th at 8pm EST alongside other nail, beauty and pop culture influencers including Chalkboard Nails, Julie G. Beauty, From Head To Toe and Wet Paint. Bonus… judges Jan Arnold, Tom Bachik and Elaine Watson will be joining in as well.

We’ll be sharing tutorials, answering your questions and offering fantastic giveaways throughout the hour.

Just for participating you could walk away with a prize package that includes:

  • The 5 Borough Package from Fingertip Fetish, by host Adrienne Bailon
  • CND hand care goodies including the Almond Hydrating Lotion and Citrus Nail Soothing Creme.
  • JulieG Nail Polish Set
  • And Oxygen branded nail files, a notebook and pens.

And after the chat, stick around to live tweet the first episode with me. It’s sure to be a fun night for all us nail fanatics and make sure you include #HailTheNail in all your tweets! I hope to see you then.

I try to leave positive comments but I have to say, in this case, I turned the show off before they even announced the winner of the first episode. One contestant was inexperienced, one was sadly insecure and the third one was just a “mean girl.” I couldn’t relate at all to the nail “art” they created. I felt like the producers should have really studied the nail boards on Pinterest to see what the majority of nail pins are about…both in technique and nail shape/length. There was no portion of the show that demonstrated techniques. There was a lot of assumed knowledge on the part of the audience. I can only imagine a very limited audience would be interested in this show. I’m delighted television has recognized the growth of nail art, but their vision is so skewed, I’m doubtful the show will catch on unless they make some meaningful changes. Thanks for letting us know about the show though!
