Chanel Spring 2015 Nails – Reverie Parisienne Swatches & Review
This spring, Chanel’s color palette is a blooming garden of color. A mix of delicate pastels and bold brights. The Chanel Spring 2015 nail colors bring that garden feel to life with a neutral, grounded taupe, silvery leaf green and vibrant petunia pink.
Formula & Application
Chanel Le Vernis is 5-Free (free of DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor). The signature square glass bottles are topped with a black square outer cap that is removed to reveal a stubby, round, ribbed inner cap. The brush is round, medium in length and width and reminds me of the old OPI brushes. It easily fans out and covers the nail without much resistance.
The colors in this collection all had a watery feel that reminded me of Essie. Though the pigmentation was off with two of the shades. Paradisio and Tenderly needed three coats and, even then, they were still a bit patchy. And the frostiness of Paradisio left subtle brush marks. Desirio, on the other hand, is a dream. Flawless application in two coats.
Chanel Reverie Parisienne Swatches
Chanel Desirio is a bold magenta creme. You can see a hint of blue shimmer in the bottle but, on the nail, it’s barely perceptible. It simply adds depth. Think of Desirio as the older, darker sister of OPI Dim Sum Plum.
Chanel Paradisio is a frosty, pale, pistacio with silver micro-glitter that peeks out at certain angles. It’s very light and icy, almost to the point of not looking green.
Chanel Tenderly is a purple-tinged taupe creme. It’s the love child of Essie Chinchilly and Merino Cool.
Bottom Line: As excited as I was for Paradisio and Tenderly, Desirio ended up being the winner of this bunch. The formula is delightful and the color is beautifully rich. It will make a fabulous pedicure shade for sure. Tenderly and Paradisio were both letdowns. Tenderly for its patchiness and Paradisio for how frosty and brush stroke-y it is. It feels a bit old-fashioned in that sense. I guess I am really missing the kick-ass shades of Chanel’s past. I mean, florals for spring… you know the ending.
The Chanel Spring 2015 makeup collection is available now at Chanel boutiques and counters nationwide and online at Chanel.com, Nordstrom.com, and SaksFifthAvenue.com. Chanel nail polish retails for $27/ea

Ooh I really like Tenderly!
Don’t get me wrong, it’s pretty, but for $27 it should be flawless like Desirio.
Tenderly is just so pretty!
I agree, it’s a pretty shade but, given the price point, it should have better pigmentation.
How nice!
Thanks Lisa!
I have to say it, “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” One of my favorite lines in that movie and, of course, the look on her face when she said it was priceless!
Ha! One of my favorites too. Then again, that movie has so many great lines.
Paradisio is my favorite shade from the trio.
Let me know if you end up getting it.
Paradisio is pretty, and it’s different, but I don’t know if any of the colors are true standouts for me. For the price, I need to be more excited about the color, application, or finish.
I hear you! That’s the sticking point. If they were $9-12 I could forgive some things.
Yeah, Chanel has let me down of late. I hope they return to their glory.
Me too! They recently brought on a new Creative Director that has a very edgy portfolio so I hope that brings some excitement to future color stories.
i’m with you. desirio looks awesome!
Pinks and berries aren’t really my thing but I like this one a lot.
Paradisio looks so nice! I have never used Chanel nail polishes, primarily because I have never reay hear them worth being the price. But this colors looks really nice. How long do they really wear?
Wear really depends on the person. Chanel seems to be pretty polarizing in that respect. I get good wear with my usual base and top coat combo but others find it chips in a day.
i choose Desirio!
Good call!
Same colors in other companies and half the price.
Not woth the money.
That’s totally fair.
Beautiful swatches! I love the color of Paradisio and I hope Chanel brings us more greens in future collections, because I am just too afraid of frosts to pick this one up. Did get the other 2 and am enjoying them both. Desirio seems to be everyone’s surprise fave and mine, too. I was shocked at how different it looks from similar shades in my stash. Tenderly is soft and wearable, I like the finish, but I wish it applied closer to the bottle shade. At 2 coats it is a lot darker than the bottle. and again, looked through m extensive stash of purple-based taupes and did not turn up a dupe. To me, it lands somewhere between Essie Merino cool and OPI Parlez Vous.
I find myself kind of drawn to Tenderly, but for the price point I don’t think it’ll happen. But it’s making me think of one of the Zoya Naturel colors, so I think I might go check them out on their website and see how similar the color might look. And with that current Zoya deal, mayhap I’ll get it even if it’s not as similar as I’d like. lol
Yeah, not as similar as I thought after all…. It’s somewhere between Odette and Normani to my eye, based on just the pics of colors online.
just the other day i almost purchased paradiso at bloomingdale’s here in san diego. unfortunately, it was sold out. fortunately, after reading your review, i’m glad it was. i wasn’t in love with it and now i definitely think it’s a waste. nothing special about it for the high price tag. as for the other two, what a bore. thanks so much for the great and timely review.
I ended up loving Tenderly the most. I actually almost didn’t buy Desirio but then I added it last minute after swatching in store. I couldn’t not own it!
I like the color of Tenderly but the formula is lacking. If the price point was lower, it wouldn’t bother me as much.
Wish Paradisio was more green. I’ve been looking for a good mint-ish color. How does Tenderly compare to Sephora OPI’s Metro Chic?
I’ve yet to shell out for a Chanel polish, although a few have tempted me. This collection is just boring in my eyes, and that frosty one seems much more winterish than springy.
Tenderly is just so pretty!
I like this shade very much.
Thanks!
