Milani Fierce Foil Nail Lacquer Swatches & Review
Of all the places I’ve traveled, Italy is definitely my favorite. The landscapes of Tuscany, the history of Rome, the unique charm and food of Venice, I could go on an on. All of those memories come flooding back as I play with the new Milani Fierce Foil Nail Lacquer collection that is named after Italian locales, three of which I’ve visited. I can never have enough foils in my life and these flecked nail polish colors are so me.
Formula & Application
Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer is 3-Free (Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP). It comes in a hefty, round glass bottle topped with a round, chrome finish cap. They look like the big sisters of the old Nails Inc bottles. The brush is long, flat and of average width. The bristles are dense yet flexible and easy to control.
The consistency of the polishes feels thick yet it spreads out on the nail like warm butter. And even though it is suspending so much glitter, the pigmentation is on point. The self-leveling formula is opaque in two coats, with the exception of Sardina.
Milani Fierce Foil Capri is a strawberry shake pink metallic shimmer with warm gold foil flecks.
Milani Fierce Foil Florence is a warm olive with yellow gold shimmer and bronze-y metallic flecks. It can look a little muted if the light isn’t hitting it, as you can see near the tips of my nails.
Milani Fierce Foil Milan is a light bronze metallic. This is the best representative of a foil finish in the collection and it is SO reflective. I mean, to the point that it’s don’t-wear-while-driving distracting.
Milani Fierce Foil Rome is a sweet, mid-tone violet shimmer with crystal and gold foil flecks. It’s the least sparkly of the bunch.
Milani Fierce Foil Sardinia is an interesting mix of crystal clear, gold and silver flecks in a sheer icy base. It’s best used as a top coat and, as you can see below, the crystal pieces reflect different colors depending on what’s underneath.
Milani Fierce Foil Venice is an electric blue with light blue shimmer with hot pink flecks. The color is really intense and the flecks save it from looking too frosty.
Bottom Line: The foil finish adds depth to these super saturated colors and you can’t beat the price. Milan and Venice are my favorites and Sardinia is a great topper but really, you can’t go wrong with any of them. I highly recommend scooping up as many of these polishes as you can find.
The Milani Fierce Foil Nail Lacquers are available now at drugstores and mass retailers nationwide. Milani nail polish retails for $3.99. For more info visit MilaniCosmetics.com.

These are pretty!
Wow! These are so pretty! Thank goodness you swatched them- I saw Rome, Venice and Sardinia at my local drugstore and thought they’d look like a cheap frosty mess on the nail. I should have known better. I’m consistently impressed with Milani.
Crazy that you just swatched these! I bought Milan on a whim after not being able to see swatches first to decide if I really wanted it. I am SO glad I grabbed it; What a gorgeous polish!
nah these are too light for me. i love the look of the sardinia over black but i think i can recreate that with a deborah lipmann color. thanks for the review!
Ooooooh, I love foils! and Sardinia over black is soooo me! I must go shopping later…thank Uncle Sam for that early tax refund! =)
Oh man, I love Milani polish; I’ve never gotten a bottle with bad formula. Definitely gonna do my best to get my hands on Milan, at least!
That’s super cool that you’ve been to Italy. Whenever I’m asked where I’d love to go, I answer with Italy. I imagine it to be so beautiful and the food would be divine. I love a good foil polish too. These are no exception either. Quite pretty!
I got Sardinia and Venice on a whim, they looked amazing in some late day sunshine coming into the drugstore…I wore Venice and loved it (even bought Revlon Sultry to see if they were dupes, pretty close!). Your pix are so great, I do now think I need the rest….
Color me surprised, but Capri is my favorite from this set, with Sardinia as a second. Great swatches, Michelle, thanks for the lemmings!
Those are such pretty colors. I really like the gold swatch.
Florence is gorgeous! I’ll have to see if I can pick these up somewhere!
I hope you can find them. I haven’t seen the displays yet myself so they are probably still rolling out.
I expected Venice to be a dud (and I’m a cobalt FIEND), but it’s quite pretty in your swatch photo. Although I have probably a dozen gold foils, Milan seems worthy of adding to my stash. (It’s just so sparkly!) I may be alone in this, but ever since I laid eyes on this collection, Sardinia has been my fave. It’s so delicate, and I have nothing like it. Thanks for showing it over black! It’s just as pretty as I’d hoped.
I found them at both KMart and Meijer here in Michigan.
Milani is on sale 30% off on their site through 3/3 with code MILANIFASHION. I am tempted to get Florence, but I brought it home from the drug store once, but took it back after I noticed I could duplicate it by layering Revlon Brilliant StrengthTantalize over Nails Inc Swiss Cottage. Ever have that problem?
