Essie + Rebecca Minkoff and an Essie Spring 2015 Preview
Exciting news, people! One of my favorite designers, Rebecca Minkoff, has been announced as the Global Color Designer for Essie. I am a huge fan of Rebecca Minkoff accessories, and have collected quite a few of her pieces over the years. I love her attention to detail, eye for color and ability to make classic shapes feel modern. I just know she’s going to bring exciting things to the world of Essie and that starts with the Essie Spring 2015 collection.
essie + Rebecca Minkoff
The relationship between the essie brand and Rebecca Minkoff first began at New York Fashion Week in 2012 where both brands worked together to create chic, show-stopping nail looks. For Rebecca, nails have always been the decisive accessory to complete her looks and tell the story of her collection. It was a natural next step for essie to look to Rebecca’s fashion expertise and modern eye for color as a creative opportunity beyond the runway. In her new role as Global Color Designer, Rebecca will bring a wealth of knowledge to the brand’s on-trend vision and provide her unique perspective on the brand’s color direction for future essie collections.
Essie Weingarten remains as a consultant of the iconic brand she so inspirationally created more than 33 years ago, having developed over 900 shades that have changed forever the way women think about nail color.
I was fortunate to be backstage the first season Essie created the nail look for Rebecca Minkoff. It was a girly pink and white striped design for her Spring 2012 collection, featuring Pink Parka. The following spring, Mint Candy Apple came to the party. Rebecca is definitely a woman who appreciates color and nail art. And, if some of my fave Rebecca Minkoff bags are any indication of what’s to come, we are going to be some very happy Essie fans.
Rebecca and the essie team worked together to create the Spring 2015 Flowerista collection, which will be hitting beauty destinations worldwide in March. This is to be the first of many upcoming essie collections Rebecca will influence, delivering a powerful color statement. As Rebecca says, “I have always had a lifelong passion for vibrant nail color and nail art – they are the perfect accessory and offer every woman another unique way to express herself. I am thrilled to take my relationship with essie one step further and look forward to a successful and colorful journey!”

Oooh, the Picked Perfect looks so gorgeous! I wonder how the Blossom Dandy will compare to Mint Candy Apple. Very lovely shades but I could only see one or two being ones I might go for.
Ooh these are pretty! I could definitely see myself buying and wearing this whole collection.
Beautiful colors. Vibrant, bright but calm enough to be perfect for casual and elegant for formal wear. Perfect.
O.M.G. – Essie with Rebecca! I love, love, love her bags! If this collection is indicative of what she will bring to the table, I will be buying wayyy more Essie! I love these colors – can’t wait to see swatches!
I like all these colors!
Essie is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands, the seasonal lines are great.
Loooove the three neutrals! And I’m curious to see how close Flowerista is to Big Spender…
I love “Teal blue orchid”. It´s a great collection!
Yes! I want all of them!
So exciting!! Love Rebecca Minkoff
Blossom Dandy and Garden Variety are calling for me!
I have to admit that I wasn’t too excited about OPI’s Hawaii collection, but this right here is my jam! If these are as awesome in real life as they look on my screen, Essie has hit it out of the park with this one. I am beyond excited! I see about four of them that I’d like to pick up, but Blossom Dandy in particular is calling my name–it seems like it might be everything I hoped Mint Candy Apple would be, minus the crappy application. Now, if only March would hurry up and get here…
