Maybelline 100 Years Collection Color Show Nail Lacquers
Maybelline is celebrating 100 years of helping make women look like they are “Born with It” with a limited-edition collection in collectible packaging. I’ve been a Maybelline fan from the moment Cherry Cola Kissing Potion hit my lips, so when I spotted a Queen of New York display, I got a little giddy. The LE packaging immediately drew me in with its colorful screening, and the two Color Show nail lacquers came right home with me.
Formula & Application
According to the Maybelline website, Color Show nail polish is 3-Free (Formaldehyde, DBP & Toluene), but I don’t have an ingredient list to know if it contains Formaldehyde Resin or Camphor. The cylindrical glass bottles are topped with a round plastic cap that is just long enough to allow for a comfortable hold in the hand. The brush is medium length and round, medium in thickness, with flexible bristles that easily fan out on the nail.
Maybelline 100 Years Queen of New York Color Show Swatches
Maybelline Beyond Burgundy is a red-based wine hue. It’s got a lovely black raspberry feel to it. It’s a lighter, warmer version of China Glaze Urban Night and deliciously vampy without earning the dreaded “almost black” title. I used two coats for full coverage.
Maybelline Gold Stunner is a clear-based gold glitter. It has three different sizes of hex glitters that are well dispersed and spread out easily over the nail using the Dab, Dip & Glide Technique. This is one coat over Beyond Burgundy.
Bottom Line: If you’re looking for a budget gold glitter, you can’t go wrong with Gold Stunner. And Beyond Burgundy’s rich, reddish tone is really beautiful, even if it’s not necessarily an ideal summer shade. Packaging geeks will love them as well.
The Maybelline 100 Years “Queen of New York” collection is limited edition and available now at drugstores and mass retailers nationwide. Maybelline Color Show nail polish retails for $3.99/ea for a .23oz bottle.
Have you spotted the 100 Years display? Did you pick up anything from the collection? Who else loved Kissing Potion, in spite of the fact that it usually leaked?

The gold glitter is really nice.
I love it with the glitter! Such a gorgeous combo.
Me too! Glad you like it.
That’s a lot of glitter in one coat! But does it lay flat? Any gritty texture? The burgundy is close to a black cherry color, and I love it! Innocently vampy.
It lays pretty flat and with top coat, it’s nice and smooth.
I like this it looks like champagne bubbles great holiday look!
I agree
Beyond Burgundy is gorgeous and the glitter topper is nice, but it’s probably not something I’ll end up picking up. Beautiful swatches, as always!
Thanks Jessica!
I haven’t seen these yet. Love the cute little design on the bottle.
Me too!
I found these at my local HEB. I just had to get both of them. I love your swatches of these. Thanks for doing the review!
You’re welcome. Glad you found them.
Firstly thanks for the nice article! Beyond Burgundy is gorgeous and the glitter topper is nice, but it’s probably not something I’ll end up picking up. Beautiful swatches, as always!
Thanks! As much as I love to enable, my goal is to make sure you only buy things that you love and are well made.
Very nice polishes!
Thanks! Let me know if you find them.
I haven’t seen this collection yet. I need to be on the hunt for them. Beautiful colors
