OPI Infinite Shine Review

OPI has entered the gel hybrid game with OPI Infinite Shine. A concept similar to CND VINYLUX, Sally Hansen Miracle Gel and Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy, it claims to deliver gel-like shine and 10-day wear with the ease of removal you get from regular nail polish.

Though, differentiating itself from the others, OPI Infinite Shine is a 3-Step system. After experiencing dulling with VINYLUX, staining with Gel Envy and a streaky finish with Miracle Gel, I was curious how OPI’s version would compare so, I picked up a couple bottles and put it to the test.

New COVERGIRL Outlast Nail Gloss

Unless you are living under a rock, you’ve seen the new COVERGIRL ads with Katy Perry for the COVERGIRL Full Lash Bloom Mascara. Between the television commercials, magazine placements and drugstore displays you can’t miss it. On a recent trip to Bed, Bath and Beyond I spotted a display with three new COVERGIRL Outlast nail polish shades. The duo-chrome pigments immediately caught my eye so, of course, they all came home with me.

7 Marsala Nail Polishes You Can Get Right Now!

Marsala Nail Polish via @alllacqueredup

Marsala Nail Polish

A browned wine shade, Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2015 is Marsala. It’s so 90s, like Brenda Walsh’s lipstick on 90210. And given that we have similar coloring, I wore the heck out of it myself. In fact, I recently discovered an old tube of Estee Lauder marsala-colored lipstick at the bottom of backpack purse, buried in a trunk with some things from college. Yes, I said backpack purse. It was green suede and I wore it everywhere!

Longtime readers know that I host a March Madness-style nail polish battle for the Color of the Year, last year it was Radiant Orchid Madness. I will be doing that again with Marsala but if you just can’t wait to get this color on your digits, I have seven permanent nail polish colors you can get right now!

Golden Globes 2015 – Negative Space Nails Inspired by Kate Hudson in Versace

Golden Globes 2015 Nail Art – Kate Hudson in Versace

The Golden Globes is always my favorite award show of the season. The combination of television and film stars with free flowing booze usually results in a very fun night. Last night’s show fell a little flat but the red carpet was full of excitement. From Kiera Knightly’s gown that made me question what is going on at Chanel to Julieanne Moore’s liquid metallic ombre (with feathers!) it was a feast for the fashion eye.

While metallics were clearly a trend, what I really loved is a look that’s also big in nails, cutouts or negative space. Rosamund Pike, Emily Blunt and Jane Fonda all worked the trend but it was Kate Hudson that caused me to gasp in this white and silver Versace design. It’s nail art as fashion and the inspiration for my Golden Globes Negative Space Nails.

Formula X Press Pods Gift Tags

When Sephora announced the Formula X Press Pods last year, all I could do was roll my eyes. 24 individual use .03 oz pods of polish for $39??? Are you serious? That’s $54 an ounce! To compare, Louboutin is $125/oz and you get that gorgeous bottle. OPI is $19/oz.

Then I saw all these raves on major beauty and fashion outlets for the product and it piqued my curiosity but not enough to buy them. Since that time, the price has dropped to $24 and they are currently on sale for $19.50. However, on Black Friday I was able to pick up a set of the Gift Tag Press Pods for $7.50 and, I was already placing and order so, I couldn’t resist.

If my post title didn’t clue you in to how my Press Pod test went, keep reading!
