Chanel Riva Nail Polish Available Now
If you’ve ordered from Chanel.com in the past you undoubtedly received the same email I did regarding the launch of the Chanel Côte d’Azur collection. In case you didn’t, here are the deets!
Debuting at the CHANEL Cruise Collection 2010 – 2011 fashion show in Saint Tropez on May 11th, Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup, was inspired by the location to create a playful collection that flirts with the sun. “Effortless, natural beauty, relaxed girls who are enjoying their holidays. That was the main idea behind the look for this show. And we added a touch of playfulness by applying a pastel baby blue nail polish”, says Peter Philips.
In CHANEL COLLECTION CÔTE D’AZUR, lips are adorned with Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Colour in four soft, summery shades: Perlé, Chintz, Taffeta Rose and Sari Doré. The playful spirit is accentuated down to the fingertips with the pastel blue lacquer, Le Vernis Nail Colour in Riva.
Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Colour: $30.00
Le Vernis Nail Colour in Riva: $27.00
Available for limited time exclusively at CHANEL.com, CHANEL Makeup Studios and CHANEL boutiques.
I haven’t seen the color yet but I’ll be sure to post a review as soon as it arrives. How many of you intend to order Riva? A pale blue in the winter reminds me of the China Glaze Bahama Blues collection. It was such a breath of fresh air in contrast to the drab winter weather. I hope Riva will have the same feel though the $27 price tag is a bit much.
Chanel Spring 2011 Preview – Black Pearl
Thanks to the talented UK Manicurist Sophy Robson we have an up close and personal peek at what could be the next big Chanel nail color; Black Pearl.
This shot posted by French Vogue lets us in on the name of the polish but it’s Sophy’s TwitPic of one of the models that answers the bigger story. What is this color?
Fashion’s Night Out with Chanel, Essie and MAC
Fashion’s Night Out, as Nancy from Beauty411 would say, was a cluster! I chose to go to SoHo and I think every other person on the planet was there. Seriously, cars couldn’t get down the street because people were standing twenty deep outside a store just to get a glimpse of a celebrity.
With over 900 events at stores all over New York City, trying to figure out a game plan was a challenge to say the least. Of course I KNEW I was going to the new Chanel SoHo Boutique, how could I not, but the rest of the night was up in the air. With my friend, and roommate, Nancy at my side we trekked all over SoHo marveling at the crowds and accidentally stumbling across one of my Top 29 events of the night. Read on to find out all about my Fashion’s Night Out adventure with Chanel, Essie and MAC. |
ALU NYFW NOTD Challenge – Day 2
In addition to it being my first full day covering Fashion Week shows, yesterday was also Fashion’s Night Out. I can’t even begin to describe the madness. I’ve never seen so many people in one place who have NO CLUE there is anyone else anywhere around them. It’s like everyone walks in their own bubble of oblivion. When you can’t even get out of the subway because people are standing 12 deep on a sidewalk, you know it’s bad.
That being said, I was not deterred from my original NOTD plan for FNO. I did a manicure using the Chanel Les Khakis De Chanel colors and visited the redesigned Chanel SoHo Boutique. I’ll be sharing a full FNO recap in a separate post but first up my nail look for Day 2. |
Chanel Les Khakis De Chanel Nail Polishes for Fashion’s Night Out
Les Khakis De Chanel Le Vernis in Khaki Brun, Khaki Vert and Khaki Rose
We’re only one day away from Fashion’s Night Out and with that comes the launch of the Chanel limited edition Les Khakis De Chanel collection. Like last year’s sellout hit, Jade Nail, Chanel Global Creative Director of Makeup Peter Phillips has yet again celebrated one of the biggest nights in fashion with a green nail polish. Big hugs and kisses to Mr. Philips for that!
The military influence is strong in fashion this season so it’s no surprise to see camouflage type colors trickle over into makeup and nails. I was fortunate to receive an advance preview of the nail colors prior to their launch this Friday so I had a little fun with the whole camouflage theme trying my hand at a bit of nail art.
