Makeup Wars: Color Wars – Teal
I know I’ve mentioned it in the past but one of the best things to come from starting this blog is the people I’ve met. Readers, brand reps and my fellow beauty bloggers. My blogging buddies have become some of my closest friends, which is why I’m thrilled to be joining a group of my fave ladies in Makeup Wars!
Makeup Wars is a battle among bloggers to share their favorite products in a variety of topics; fave purple nail polish, best sunscreens, etc. This week is Color Wars! Each blogger in the group selected a shade to highlight and I chose TEAL!
I have an affection for teal since it combines two of my favorite shades, blue and green. And unlike Jennifer Lopez’s character in The Wedding Planner, I do not associate teal with “the color of gangrene.” It’s a fab accent color for eyes and simply stunning on nails.
Not only is teal shaping up to be one of the hot colors for Fall 2013, it’s also part of my FingerPaints A Pair Affair by All Lacquered Up collection. And today I’m thrilled to give you the first real look at FingerPaints Our Tips Are Tealed, paired with one of my all-time favorite eyeliners. Plus, I have three more gorgeous teal polishes to share.

Summer Nail Trend Alert – Glitter-Tipped White Nails
White parties. Crisp, white pants. A fitted white tee. During this sticky, humidity-filled season, wearing white feels clean, chic and fresh. That goes for nails as well. We’ve talked about the white nail trend in the past but this year’s version brings sparkle to the party.
Finding the perfect white nail polish can be hard. They can be too sheer, streaky or chalky. Adding a glittery tip gives white nails a funky edge and keeps the look from feeling too dated or mod.
This week’s People Magazine features top celebrity manicures for summer chosen by nail pros and I’m thrilled to be one of them. Keep reading to see which celebrity’s look I selected and how you can get it yourself!

China Glaze Texture Nail Polish Swatches & Review
When I first heard that textured nail polish was going to be the big thing for 2013, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Given that so many DIYers had been experimenting with flocking powder, beads, sugar, embossing powder and just about anything you can find in a craft store, brands could have gone down a number of different roads.
I’m happy to see that rather than jump on the exact same bandwagon (e.g. crackle), the brands are differentiating themselves somewhat, offering varying takes on texture. The China Glaze Texture collection is one such example.
Of the textured polishes I’ve shown thus far, the majority have gone down the sparkly, glistening sand route. China Glaze’s take has the look of stucco with tiny irregularly shaped particles that remind me of NERDS candy.

Mani Monday – Subtle Sparkle with L’Oreal Paris and China Glaze Nail Polish
As much as I love loud, “notice me” nail color, I have moments where I just want something neutral, effortless and clean. This past weekend, I had one of those moments. It was a lazy, no plans kind of weekend. The boyfriend has been working like a dog throughout tax season (which is almost over, yay!) so we kept it low key.
Even though no one would see it, I still wanted something new on my nails so I turned to my current neutral nail look of choice, which I call the “Subtle Sparkle.” I’ve been living for China Glaze Champagne Kisses for months now but it can be a bit much on its own. Paired with my perfect not-quite-naked nail color, L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche So Chic!, it makes for one stunning manicure.
