CND Perfectly Bare Duo – “The Look” for Spring/Summer 2011 Swatches & Review
Each spring and fall CND presents what they deem “The Look” for the season along with a new Colour & Effect Duo. For Spring 2011 “The Look” is Flesh Forward which is created with the Perfectly Bare Duo of Perfectly Bare Colour and Perfectly Bare Shimmer Effect.
While last year we were talking about “Mannequin Hands” and matching our polish exactly to our skin tone, CND has created a neutral hue to complement, rather than match, the majority of flesh tones. My St. Paddy’s Day Emerald Green Shellac Attack
This past weekend I visited Chicago to check out America’s Beauty Show, one of the largest professional beauty trade shows in the US. The show just happened to coincide with Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Chicago River being dyed green. Talk about perfect timing for a green polish fanatic, no?
I arrived in Chicago on Saturday wearing China Glaze Starboard, a pretty rad St. Paddy’s Day color, but the following day I had an appointment to get Shellac’d at the CND Suite at the ABS show. While I was happy to give Shellac another run, I was sad that I wouldn’t be rocking a fabulous green come today. Thankfully CND Education Ambassador Kris Kiss came to my nail rescue applying a layering combination of Shellac colors that fulfilled all my green dreams. Using Shellac Black Pool and Shellac Iced Coral she created an eye-popping green that does this most festive holiday justice. |
CND at New York Fashion Week – Day 4 Giveaway
Sunday was Day 4 of Fashion Week and I was off and running at the crack covering a show at 8am. I’m so not a morning person but for nails, I make it happen. On this day CND worked with two talented female designers, Malandrino and Behnaz Sarafpour . While I wasn’t able to see the Malandrino show, based on the tweets from my fave fashion bloggers, every piece was covet worthy.
New York urbanites and Parisians alike will delight in today’s CND manicures which honor the sophisticated, jet-setting woman From a pale, purple tinged grey nail to graphic, futuristic French manicures based on shoes, we see two classic looks made modern. |
CND at New York Fashion Week – Day 3 Giveaway
Day 3 of New York Fashion Week was my first official day of covering backstage. I started out bright and early at my can’t miss show, Diego Binetti. I’ve gushed over and over again about how Diego “gets” nails and how each season the combination of his inspiration joined with the creativity of Jan Arnold and the entire CND team continues to amaze me. This season is no different.
I walked backstage and was greeted with a, “Are you ready to die?” and that was all I needed to hear. I knew it was on. Game. Set. Match. CND! |
CND at New York Fashion Week – Day 2 Giveaway
CND turned it out on Day 2 of New York Fashion Week working with heavy hitting, nail loving designers Jason Wu and Ruffian. They continue to step up to their game with Ruffian’s signature moon manicure, topping themselves with a new twist on the look.
Today’s manicures were tuxedo formal, gilded burgundy, minty green, and brushed copper. Long, almond shaped nails at Ruffian and Jason Wu elongated fingers and made models look even slimmer than normal! From head to nail, runway looks were dressed up and extravagant. The looks were so varied and strong that it made choosing a favorite quite a challenge. Read on to see if I succumbed to the power green or if nail art ruled the day. |
