#ManiMonday – Veronica Mars Movie Nail Art (No Spoilers, Promise!)
Happy Mani Monday/St. Patrick’s Day! I don’t know about you guys but my weekend was made a whole lot better by the release of the Veronica Mars movie.
As a Kickstarter backer of the film, I’ve been not-so-patiently waiting for the return of this modern day Nancy Drew since last March. Though really, since it went off the air in 2007.
On Friday, I received my digital download of the movie and hosted a watch party with my fellow Marshmallows. I may or may not have watched it four times since then.
To celebrate the release of the film and in hopes that it does well enough to spawn sequels, I have a VMars-inspired manicure that, naturally, incorporates Essie Marshmallow. I mean, how could it not??

Golden Globes Inspired Nail Art Tutorial – Mila Kunis in Gucci Premiere
Last night was so much fun, you guys! Not only did the Golden Globes air, my fave award show of the season, but I co-hosted the very first #NailGlossip twitter chat with Sarah from Chalkboard Nails and Jen from The PolishAholic. It was so great dishing on the award show looks with fellow nail fanatics. The hour flew by and I can’t wait for the next one, January 26th (Grammy night).
During the chat, @NailedKit asked if any dresses inspired us to create nail art so I threw down the challenge that we should all try our hand at some Golden Globes inspired designs. I don’t know about you guys, but I couldn’t take my eyes of Mila Kunis. I’ve never seen her have a bad red carpet moment and I knew her sequin and chiffon Gucci Premiére gown would look fantastic as nail art.

The Gwen Stefani for OPI collection is finally here and all I can say is, IT’S ABOUT TIME. Seriously, how it’s taken this long for the music and fashion icon to come out with a line of nail polish, baffles me. She’s as known for her red lips and tips as she is her unique vocals. Not that she doesn’t stray into the world of nail art, mind you, but when I think of Gwen, I think of bold, fierce red.
So it should come as no surprise that this collection is highlighted by a signature red shade, Over & Over A-Gwen, that comes in its own Gwen-ified packaging. In addition to that, we have six new shades in a range of finishes including OPI’s attempt at a true chrome. Check it out!

Best of 2013 – Top 30 Nail Polishes of the Year
It’s been a pretty stellar year for nail polish. In 2013, we’ve seen new technologies, new finishes and tons of new colors. So you can imagine what a task it’s been trying to narrow down my favorites.
The new textured polishes really helped invigorate my passion for polish. Unlike other fad-type finishes of the past few years (crackle, matte, magnetic, etc), I’m so not tired of texture and I don’t see my love waning anytime soon.
After an unexpectedly long break from ALU, I came back this year with a vengeance and I’ve been loving every second of it. A huge part of that is you. Your comments, emails, tweets, etc. mean so much and encourage me to share my love of nail color. So without further ado, I give you my Top 30 Nail Polish Colors of 2013.
