Go Green Week – Sally Hansen Grass Slipper
It’s Go Green Week on ALU! In celebration of Earth Day on Thursday, April 22nd I’m reviewing some of the great green polishes from this season that I haven’t yet shared. Included with the reviews are tips on how you can “green” your manicure routine.
Last winter I was in Michigan visiting friends when I made pit stop at Meijer’s to check out the Massini brand of nail polishes that I’ve heard so much about. The word on the interwebs is that Massini is made by Color Club and some of the polishes are dupes for the holographic CC’s. Of course, I got completely sidetracked when I spotted a bright green polish in the Sally Hansen rack. I saw the Spring Tracy Reese shades backstage at Fashion Week last fall but hadn’t seen the core colors yet. Grass Slipper from the Complete Salon Manicure line jumped into my cart and it’s a fantastic color. Check it out after the jump! |
Sally Hansen Midnight in NY and Hidden Treasure
Last September during NYFW, Sally Hansen unveiled their new Complete Salon Manicure line and the Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Spring 2010 Runway Collection. Two of the shades, Midnight in NY and Hidden Treasure were layered to create the nail look for the show.
I’ve already beyond raved over the Complete Salon Manicure formula when I wore it during my NYFW NOTD Challenge so I’ll spare you my gushing but wonky brush or not, this polish wears like iron. And the combination of Midnight in NY and Hidden Treasure is not only gorgeous, it resembles a certain hard-to-find polish that many of you hunted for last fall. See what I’m talking about after the jump! |

Mannequin Hands with Sally Hansen Café Au Lait
Mannequin Hands is a new series featuring ALU Fanatics showing off their “mannequin hands” shade. The one polish that best gives that elongated, flesh-toned look to their hands.
Today we’re taking a look at KarenD‘s mannequin hands. She used three coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in 220 Café Au Lait since she’s, “still learning to work with that funky wide brush.” She also showed it mattified with China Glaze Matte Magic (below). Karen is primarily a drugstore woman using Revlon Colorstay Ivory foundation and has shared some additional images on MUA (click here).
If you found your color match in KarenD, let us know. Have you tried the new Sally Hansen line? What do you think of the brush?
Don’t forget, you have until January 15th to share your Mannequin Hands with the group. CLICK HERE for more details.
