Over the past few years Zoya has become quite a presence at Fashion Week and during the Fall 2011 shows they came up with a look they’re calling the “French Twist.” Using two polishes from the Spring 2011 Intimate Collection, I tested my freehand skills polishing a French tip. 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.
I’ve seen a few comments from readers saying they are disappointed that I won’t be reviewing new nail polish collections. I wanted to reassure you all that that isn’t the case. Just because I am launching this 365 project DOESN’T mean that I won’t be reviewing current collections. The Zoya Wicked collection launched in Fall 2010 as a set of six sparkling shades with names matching the Dancing With The Stars pro dancers. While the collection was pretty, only two colors really stood out to me, Edyta and Julieanne, a smokey olive green and jewel toned purple. Being that my favorite colors are green and purple, in that order, it’s really no surprise that those polishes called out to me. Alas, they’ve been sitting since Fall in my “to be worn” bin and haven’t received the love they deserve. Since I’m pretty season-less in my manicure choices I figured today is as good a day as any to give Zoya Julieanne a whirl. |
Current Obsession – Zoya Crystal Nail Polish
I’ve been experiencing a major nail polish depression of late. I’m having issues finding polishes that truly thrill me to my core. It’s not that I’m not enjoying polish or anything but I haven’t had too many OH.MY.GOD. moments this fall.
I don’t know what it is but I feel like everything “new” that comes out is something I’ve seen before. That is until I put Zoya Crystal on my nails. I didn’t just have an OMG moment. More like an OMFG IT’S BEAUTIFUL moment. I’m so smitten with the color I’ve worn it three, THREE, times. Once for eight days and it still looked fab! Cosmoprof 2010 Day 2 Recap
Monday was utter craziness at Cosmoprof North America. Christine and I arrived bright and early and hit the ground running.
We met with the teams at CND, OPI, Orly, SpaRitual and Zoya and I think by the end of the day we were both visually overwhelmed. You can’t really grasp the scope of how large this show is unless you’re here. Outside of all the major nail, hair and skin care brands that are represented there are a tons of smaller and international brands to check out. Three of the big trends I’m noticing are keratin treatments, hair tinsel and gel polish. The amount of brands that have come out with those three products is exploding.
