Mani Monday – OPI Show Us Your Tips!
Happy Mani Monday! How many of you are dragging after staying up to watch the Oscars? Guilty! Between that and the mountain of homework I’ve been tackling (I’m taking FIVE classes this semester), this morning came way too early, so I want to brighten our day with my latest color obsession. I am swooning over OPI Show Us Your Tips! from the Spring 2016 New Orleans collection.
Did you have a favorite crayon as a kid? Was it just me? Mine was definitely Cornflower. It’s the cat of the Crayola box in that you have to work for its affection. Cornflower was probably the least pigmented crayon, so you really had to work to get that beautiful purple-tinged blue to come through on paper. In a lot of ways, Show Us Your Tips! is similar.
OPI Show Us Your Tips! is a vivid cornflower with iridescent glass-flecks (and you know how I feel about those), but it’s a little sheer. Even after three coats I can see my nail underneath when I get all up close and personal with it, but that color makes me say, “Who cares?!?” It’s one of the best colors OPI has put out and a definite must-have in my book.
I’m working on my full OPI NOLA review, but in the meantime I’ve been wearing this color out so get involved! The OPI Spring 2016 collection is available now at salons and mass retailers nationwide. You can snag it online at Amazon.com, ULTA.com and SallyBeauty.com.
What’s on your nails for this Mani Monday? Have you picked up SUYT! yet? Let me know in the comments!

During a recent #NailGlossip we discussed which upcoming collections we are excited for in 2016, and someone mentioned Orly Melrose and I was all, “O RLY?” A quick search for promo images had me looking forward to it as well. I mean, they had me at holo… glitter. What surprised me is that the colors are even more bold and saturated than the bottle shade implies. Check it!

#ManiMonday – Rouge Louboutin and Chanel Lamé Rouge Noir Gold Sparkle Top Coat
Who else was hating life this morning? After a nice long holiday break, I didn’t want to get up AT ALL this morning. I totally slept through my alarm. My body just wasn’t having it. I had such a lovely time at home with the boyfriend, who also took the last two weeks off. We spent Christmas with my parents, baked cookies, hosted a NYE party, did some work around the house, and binge-watched Mozart in the Jungle, Man in the High Castle, Red Oaks, Master of None, and caught up on AHS: Hotel (it’s FINALLY getting good).
My nails were pretty bare the last week since we cleaned and de-cluttered the house (I’m reading the KonMari method book) and ended up breaking/chipping a few nails. I didn’t even have polish on for NYE! If I did, it would have been today’s manicure, one of my Christmas gifts from the boyfriend and a treat to myself. He remembered me saying how I could never justify the INSANE price of Rouge Louboutin, even though I wanted it as a collectible, so I was happily surprised when it showed up under the tree.
