ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – China Glaze Blue Iguana from the Island Escape Collection

china glaze blue iguana nail polish from the island escape collection for summer 2011 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

Today was one of those days where I couldn’t decide what nail polish I wanted to wear. We all have those days, don’t we? I was blankly staring at bottles, sifting through Helmer drawers and feeling pretty uninspired. I haven’t been sleeping well this week so I blame my polish malaise on that.

I finally started swatching a bunch of random colors on my nails, hoping to be wowed. I tried a few colors before cracking open China Glaze Blue Iguana from the Island Escape collection. When Blue Iguana first arrived it didn’t look like much in the bottle, an average blue shimmer but it turned out to be more than that.

ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Color Club Otherworldly

color-club-otherwordly-nail-polish-starry-temptress-spring-2011 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.Last night I watched the Hellcats season series finale and got a bit misty after hearing of its cancellation. DAMN YOU CW!! They usually give shows a chance if they ran all season long so, needless to say, I was a wee bit pissed over the news. I know it’s only a show but I really liked it. I hope to see the leads pop up on some new shows next season.

Today in support of the Lancer Hellcats, who wear bright blue cheer-leading uniforms, I broke out an in-your-face neon blue; Color Club Otherworldly from the Starry Temptress Collection for Summer 2011. For the past few years Color Club has cranked out some major neons for summer, with little tweaks to set each collection apart. The Starry Temptress polishes all pack a glittery wallop.

Yesterday a reader posted on my Facebook wall raving about how amazing the famed holo Nfu Oh 61 is and blaming me for finally caving on a bottle. A blame I happily accept.

Naturally that had me revisiting my Nfu Oh stash which contains at least 5 untried colors. What started out as a simple creme manicure with Nfu Oh 570 ended up becoming a full on sparkle-gasm involving Nfu Oh 52. Keep reading to find out why.

ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Nubar Indigo Illusion

nubar-indigo-illusion-nail-polish-bottle 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

Last week when I reviewed the CND Perfectly Bare Duo I mentioned that the Perfectly Bare Effect layered over Sally Hansen Gray by Gray reminded me of Nubar Indigo Illusion.

At the time I pulled out my bottle of Indigo Illusion and realized that I have never actually worn the color. When I first heard of Nubar nail polish four years ago ALU was just a baby. I posted about the brand but had only swatched Indigo Illusion on a nail art wheel. All this time has passed and I still haven’t taken it for a test drive. That situation is now rectified.

ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Deborah Lippmann Naked & Glitter in the Air

deborah-lippmann-naked-glitter-in-the-air-nail-polish-spring-2011 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

Deborah Lippmann’s Spring 2011 Collection nail polishes both made their first public appearance during New York Fashion Week. Naked, a classic backstage beige, was seen on the ADAM runway where the look was a modern take on 70s fashion. Glitter in the Air, which Deb created after seeing Pink’s ethereal performance at the 2010 Grammys, was the finishing touch to a layered manicure with Fashion at Badgley Mischka.

When I first saw Glitter in the Air last September, I couldn’t help but drool over the cotton candy confection. My mind starting racing with layering ideas, including Waking Up In Vegas but it was Deb who suggested wearing it over Naked so I decided to combine the two for today’s post.
