barielle-wildflower-collection-spring-2010 For spring 2010, get rooted into style with six new nail polish hues from Shades by Barielle. The Wildflower Collection blooms with floral-themed colors and Barielle’s signature healthy “3-free” formulation. Lending a helping hand to root out ovarian cancer, 100% of proceeds from three shades from the collection will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund when purchased at www.ocrf.org.

Launching this February, the Wildflower collection from Shades by Barielle includes three polishes designed by Creative Director Elle to help fight Ovarian Cancer.  With two blues and two greens including some unique glitter accents, I’m smitten with the charitable concept and the colors.  The collection doesn’t launch for a couple months but I’ve got a preview of the bottles and Junebug for you to check out.

china-glaze-up-and-away-collection-spring-2010 Sorry for the delay Fanatics! Mother Nature has not been playing nice. The lighting here in the Cleveburg has been atrocious so I’ve been waiting with bated breath to swatch the rest of this collection.

Though over the past few days, I’ve had plenty of time to stare at the polishes all lined up and they keep making me crave ice cream regardless of the freezing cold temperatures.  It’s like looking in the Baskin Robbins case trying to decide between a soft, sweet sherbet or multi-colored scoop of Superman.  Yum!!

Today I have the blues, greens and cheese-stands-alone peach for you.  Check out their deliciousness after the jump!

China Glaze Wizard of Ooh Ahz Swatches, Comparisons & Review

china-glaze-wizard-of-ooh-ahz-dorothy-who The highly anticipated Wizard of Ooh Ahz collection is finally here.  After a lot of nail board begging, petitions and pleas the people at China Glaze listened and brought back the famed 2001 collection including the much talked about but rarely seen Dorothy Who?, Good Witch? and C-C-Courage.I’ve been fortunate to have owned, or seen in person, all the original WOOA polishes but most have not been as lucky, even the people AT China Glaze.  Thanks to the help of original WOOA owners, like myself, the brand attempted to re-create the collection and they’ve come pretty close for what they had to work with.  Check out the 2009 version of these beauties and see how they stack up against the originals (that I still own), after the jump!

Let’s Whip It, Whip It Good!

A few weeks ago, my friend invited me to a special screening of Whip It, Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut about the world of roller derby. You see, my friend is a member of the Burning River Roller Girls and they were at the screening to explain more about derby and their experiences in the league.
Of course, as with any movie I watch, I’m always on the lookout for some stand out nail color. With the amount of makeup and costuming involved in derby, I expected to see some crazy colors on screen. What I didn’t expect was to find the most interesting polish pop up on the only non-roller girl in the movie, Alia Shawkat’s character Pash. One of the first things my friend and I commented on after the movie was her electric blue nails (she’s a fanatic too). That set me on a mission to find out more about the color and thanks to Makeup Department Head Eryn Krueger Mekash I’ve got the scoop!
