ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Chanel Peridot from the Fall 2011 Collection
365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.
Even though Chanel Graphite is the Fall Chanel color that caused me to swoon, it’s Chanel Peridot that is getting all the buzz. I even saw Bobbie Thomas mention it on her Today Show “Minute Buzz” segment along with LCN Magnetic Polish (yay!). Now you know I’m all about the greens but I haven’t exactly been champing at the bit to wear Peridot. Yellow greens are just not my thing. They remind me of cat’s eyes which, as much as I love my furballs, are a creepy color. I did a nail wheel swatch of Peridot when it arrived and felt pretty “meh” but I’m finally taking the plunge since so many of you have asked about it. |
Chanel Fall 2011 Illusions d’Ombres de Chanel Nail Polish Preview
Last winter we got a peek at one of the Chanel Fall 2011 nail polishes when Chanel Graphite hit the runway but it’s Chanel Peridot that seems to be getting all the buzz. Is it green? Is it yellow? Are we talking Chanel duo-chrome?
Inspired by the heritage and savoir faire of the artisanal craftsmanship of the House of Chanel, Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, introduces new textures and makeup effects in a radiant Fall 2011 Collection, ILLUSIONS D’OMBRES DE CHANEL.
At the heart of this captivating colour story: Shimmering bronze, gold and platinum are the perfect complements to plum, khaki and copper shades on eyes and lips. Unique reflections of metallic green, silver and beige on nails provide the ideal counterpoint.
“Illusion d’Ombre is a new and exciting product, that’s easy to apply,” says Peter Philips. “I would suggest finger application. The texture is unique and has a very pleasant touch.”

Sephora by OPI Looks Like Rain, Dear & Midnight Mambo
This past weekend the boyfriend and I went to Pittsburgh to visit with friends. I also went to see Chelsea Handler’s Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang Tour Saturday night.
I am a religious Chelsea Lately watcher and I adore her on the show but her stand up was a REAL disappointment. As Chelsea would say, “It’s not great!” Her behavior was so manic you would think she was having an episode on stage. Like to the point that I was worried about her. And her act was so old that I remembered some parts from her 2007 Comedy Central Presents show. Time for some new material Chelsea. Anywho, I wanted a blingy manicure for the weekend and two of the Sephora by OPI polishes I purchased during the Friends & Family sale called out to me. A reader suggested that I try Looks Like Rain, Dear but Midnight Mambo looked really pretty as well so I decided to combine them into a multi-colored mani. |
CND Sparkling Effects Holiday Duo
Have you missed me Fanatics? I’ve missed you. This ALU post outage was brought to you by the letters “T” “W” and “C” (Time Warner Cable). Apparently my modem was so ancient the tech was amazed it still worked. Obviously TWC can’t say “I’m right on top of that Rose.” a la Christina Applegate in Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead.
Venting aside I have a fun holiday item to share with you from CND. If you haven’t picked up the vibe already, Holiday 2010 is one big old glitter party. And in the case of the CND Silver & Gold Sparkling Effects Duo, all that glitters IS gold (and silver). These two limited edition Effects, one cool & one warm, are sure to add the right kick of glam to your holiday manicures. This set is just one of the many prizes included in the Think Pink – Donate & Win Giveaway so keep reading for a glimpse at what you could win. |
