Maybelline Color Show “Polka Dots” Glitter Nail Polish Swatches & Review
After drooling over pics of the Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots shades on the nails of some of my fave UK bloggers, the collection is finally coming to the US. Only with different names and a couple different shades.
Launching in July 2013, the Polka Dots glitters are filled with black & white multi-sized hexagonal sequins that make your nails look like they’re sprinkled with dots. Maybelline’s take on a look popularized by the indie nail polish community can be worn on their own or layered.

Nail Tip – The Glitter Polish “Dab, Dip & Glide” Tutorial
Chunky glitter nail polish is both a pleasure and a pain. What looks like a party in a bottle can be a total bummer to work with if you approach it like a traditional lacquer. Recently, I’ve had a few friends and readers ask me about the best way to apply glitters, complaining of lumpy, bumpy results.
What better way to explain my “dab, dip & glide” technique than to show you. Check out my quick & dirty nail tutorial with the new Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots color, Blue Marks The Spot.
The Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots limited edition colors officially launch in July 2013 but are already popping up on store shelves. Maybelline nail polish retails for $3.99/ea and a full review is in the works.

PinspiratioNAIL – Sea Glass Watercolor Nail Art with Sally Hansen
Since I work from home, daytime TV is my background noise and one of my can’t miss morning shows is the Today Show “Drunk Hour” (aka KLG & Hoda). I’m not gonna lie, Kathie Lee bugs the crap out of me some days and, when I first started watching, I thought for sure that Hoda would slap her someday. They’ve grown on me over the years and now I just roll my eyes at Kathie Lee like she’s a batty aunt.
Anyway, the point is, every day is something different on the show; Wine-sday (Wednesday), Thirsty Thursday, etc. and today happens to be Try-day Friday, when they try something new. This morning it was chocolate babka, yum!! It’s in honor of that concept that this PinspiratioNAIL was born.
If you recall, PinspiratioNAIL is my riff on a look I find on Pinterest. Today I wanted to attempt a new-to-me technique, Watercolor Nail Art (or Marble Nails). The name is open to interpretation. Anyway, I’ve seen a few different tutorials on how to create the watercolor look but, given my amateur skills, I wanted the simplest possible method. For my sake and yours. Check it out!

Zoya Stunning Summer 2013 Nail Polish Swatches & Review
If the whole texture trend is giving you hives, Zoya has the cure with its summer nail polish collection of six cremes, Zoya Stunning. A rainbow of rich, creamy hues that can be worn together or on their own.
This type of candy-colored collection always brings back memories of the first Skittles manicure I showed you, using the Zoya Candy collection, or how we debated whether multi-colored manicures were trendy or tacky. Now, that wouldn’t even be a question. Oh how times have changed since I launched this site, over six years ago.

China Glaze Texture Nail Polish Swatches & Review
When I first heard that textured nail polish was going to be the big thing for 2013, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Given that so many DIYers had been experimenting with flocking powder, beads, sugar, embossing powder and just about anything you can find in a craft store, brands could have gone down a number of different roads.
I’m happy to see that rather than jump on the exact same bandwagon (e.g. crackle), the brands are differentiating themselves somewhat, offering varying takes on texture. The China Glaze Texture collection is one such example.
Of the textured polishes I’ve shown thus far, the majority have gone down the sparkly, glistening sand route. China Glaze’s take has the look of stucco with tiny irregularly shaped particles that remind me of NERDS candy.
