Essie Neons 2014 Too Taboo Collection Swatches & Review
Even though I own a bunch of day-glo neon polishes, I rarely wear them. They’re cool but the opacity issues and streakiness that plague traditional neons make them a bother to apply. Plus, they can be a bit too much for everyday life.
That’s why I find the Essie Neons 2014 so refreshing. They’re well pigmented and aren’t as in-your-face. That’s just two of the reasons it’s one of my Top 10 nail polish collections of the summer.

Morgan Taylor Island Treasures for Summer 2014 – Swatches & Review
As I told you when I named my Top 10 Summer Nail Polish Collections, Morgan Taylor Island Treasures made the list for its mix of “me” colors with more mainstream shades like pink and fuchsia. The brand really hasn’t gotten enough attention for its top notch formula which you’ll get to see in a new video series I’m testing out.

L’Oréal Extraordinaire Gel-Lacque 1-2-3 Swatches & Review
If, like me, you tend to stalk your local drugstores for the latest and greatest in the world of nails, you’ve undoubtedly seen displays popping up for this new line of lacquer from L’Oréal. Though, in my area, the displays are cleaned out. Like I’ve said in the past, you include the word “gel” in a nail product and it flies off the shelves.
L’Oréal Extraordinaire Gel-Lacque 1-2-3 is a new three part system that claims “the high-shine of a UV-Gel and the perfect nail shape without harmful UV rays.” Now, you know how I feel about these gel-like claims (I call shenanigans) but I’m always game for being proven wrong so I put Gel-Lacque to the test.

PinspiratioNAIL – Maybelline Bleached Neons Interlocking Dots Nail Art Tutorial
Normally, when I see a neon nail polish collection, I cringe a bit inside. While bright and fun, neons are notorious problem children. They are plagued by opacity issues, streaks and the need for a white base coat. In other words… TOO.MUCH.WORK!
Thankfully, we’re seeing some non-traditional neons this season, like Essie’s version and now the Maybelline Color Show Bleached Neons, which are a not-so-in-your-face take on the day-glow brights we typically associate with the genre. I decided to tackle one of my first PinspiratioNAIL pins, a look I’ve been wanting to try for a while now, with these punchy new shades.

#ManiMonday – DIY Subtle Sparkle with Essie Resort Fling
It’s no secret that Essie Resort Fling is one of my fave shades for spring. The peachy, coral creme jelly (sorry the word “crelly” makes my skin crawl), is near perfect. The only thing that could make it better is that subdued crystal sparkle in shades like Sunday Funday and Naughty Nautical.
So, for this #ManiMonday, I used Essie Pure Pearlfection to create that signature look and now Resort Fling looks even more amazing!!
