Estée Lauder “The Metallics” Fall 2013 Nail Polish Swatches and Review

If any brand has earned a “Best Formulation” award for Fall 2013, it’s Estée Lauder for their “The Metallics” nail polishes. Not that their Pure Color Nail Lacquers weren’t great before but, they have single-handedly redeemed metallic nail polish’s not-so-stellar reputation.

In general, true metallic nail polish gets a bad rap. Deservedly so, for the most part. It can be streaky, lumpy and tend to dry with major brush stroke-itis. It’s one reason why foil metallics have gained such popularity over chrome metallics. But, Estée Lauder truly hit it out of the park with this stunning limited edition collection of eight brushed metal shades.

We’re just a couple weeks away from the official start of fall and as much as I love summer weather I feel like we’ve been gypped with all the rain and cool temps. At this point, I’m over it and ready for boots, sweaters and jewel-toned nails. Enter, the Sally Hansen Fall 2013 Insta-Dri nail polish shades.

At first glance I wasn’t sure what to expect from these colors. Some of them appear rather frosty in the bottle but, as evidenced below, their looks are quite deceptive. I’m pleasantly surprised by the nail juice inside and I think you will be too.

NEW Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Shades – Swatches & Review

I’m not gonna lie, when the first set of Sally Hansen Sugar Coat textured nail polishes released, I wasn’t that jazzed. The color palette was very basic; white, black, red, yellow, pink, etc. With the exception of a green (Sour Apple) and blue (Razzle-berry), they didn’t speak to me.

However, Sally Hansen has released a second set of Sugar Coat shades that include some more “me” colors, including some glitter textures.
