Chanel Nouvelle Vague, Mistral & Riviera Swatches, Review and Comparisons
Bold and audacious, Gabrielle Chanel pushed the boundaries of style.
Now Peter Philips continues the tradition by creating a free-spirited makeup collection inspired by an idyllic seaside vista: LES POP-UP DE CHANEL, fresh new cult-worthy hues for lips and nails. Vibrant pops of colour, including neon pink, sunny coral and brilliant turquoise are beautifully complemented by bronzed, glowing skin. . . and sure to be the standout shades of summer. Chanel’s Summer 2010 collection will be rolling out to stores before you know and it and with it comes the highly anticipated Nouvelle Vague (turquoise), Riviera (intense pink) and Mistral (soft pink) nail polishes. I’ve been dying to get my mitts on what looked to be a blue version of Jade since I first saw promo pics pop up online. Following up Jade Collection fever with a turquoise shimmer could cause quite a craze but does Nouvelle Vague live up to the expectation? Find out after the jump! |
Zoya Flash Collection Swatches & Review
Who can take a rainbow, wrap it in a sigh Soak it in the sun and make a groovy lemon pie The Candy Man, the Candy Man can The Candy Man can ’cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good ~Candy Man by Sammy Davis Jr. Flash, the second summer collection from Zoya is a set of six glossy cremes that feel very candy-ish. Like a companion set to one of my fave Zoya collections, Candy, from a few summers ago. Couldn’t you just see all those shades as big glossy jawbreakers in a candy machine? Friendly jawbreakers though, not the kind Rose McGowan shoves down your throat as a deadly joke. Or how about giant lollipops along the wall of Dylan’s Candy Bar? Come check out the sugar coated goodness of Dana, Jancyn, Jolene, Maura, Perrie and Robyn after the jump! |
Zoya Sparkle Collection Swatches & Review
The Zoya Sparkle collection has completely wowed me. I predicted when I saw the promo images that I would find some must-haves in the bunch but seriously they’re all winners. Even the reds and pinks which is so unlike me.
With this first of two Summer 2010 collections, Zoya has combined the twinkling beauty of the China Glaze glass flecked formula with the foil-like metallic glitter as seen in the Orly Foil FX collection. Together they make for one killer combo of bling and glitz that will razzle dazzle you a la Chicago. I want to break out the jazz hands and fan kicks just thinking about it. Check out the girls, Ivanka, Charla, Mimi, Alegra, Nidhi and Gilda, after the jump! |
China Glaze Poolside Collection Swatches & Review
I have a love/hate relationship with brights and neons. I LOVE wearing them in the summer but I HATE photographing them. They are just so hard to capture. Neons just never translate on screen so it’s really hard for me to show you what you’re getting.
Regardless, I took the new China Glaze Poolside collection for a spin. Poolside consists of six bold, in-your-face neons that are bound to attract attention. From the shimmery blue Towel Boy Toy to the hi-lighter yellow of Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, if you want to make a bold color nail statement, this collection has it. Color Club Rebel Debutante Swatches & Review
One of Color Club’s three, yes I said three, new collections is Rebel Debutante. The collection introduces nine new creme polishes that for the most part are very chic and subdued but it’s the stand out blue and green that caught my eye. What an unexpected twist to add such bright pops of color to the palette. I suppose they are the rebels in the group. Though what I like about this collection as a whole is that even though the majority of the shades are neutrals, they are what I’d call “new neutrals.” They have an updated feel to them. See what I mean after the jump! |
