CND Monday – Introducing Sweet & Sugar Sparkle
Welcome to CND Monday, a regular series here on ALU. Each week I’ll be sharing a new layering combination from CND Colour & Effects to show you the versatility and creativity of the line.
Fanatics, today I have a special edition of CND Monday for you featuring Sweet and Sugar Sparkle; “The Look” for Spring 2010. A few months ago I talked about CND’s new concept for releasing seasonal colors (check out CND Colour & Effects… What’s Next? for a refresher) and how each Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter they’ll release a new LE Colour and Effect to reflect the trends. This season CND is taking us to the “Candy Shop” with two sugary confections. Check them out! |
China Glaze Up & Away Swatches, Review and Comparisons – Part 3
Here we go Fanatics. It’s time to round out the China Glaze Up & Away collection. This new lineup of pastels and brights for Spring 2010 includes a set of four pink/coral shades in a range of hues to satisfy the cool and warm toned Fanatics out there.
I think we all know by now that this range of colors isn’t necessarily my cup of tea. Give me something that will make people stop and stare and I’m all over it (hello Re-Fresh Mint!). However, I did end up shocking myself by becoming smitten with a couple of these beauties. Find out which ones curled my toes, after the jump! |
China Glaze Wizard of Ooh Ahz Swatches, Comparisons & Review
The highly anticipated Wizard of Ooh Ahz collection is finally here. After a lot of nail board begging, petitions and pleas the people at China Glaze listened and brought back the famed 2001 collection including the much talked about but rarely seen Dorothy Who?, Good Witch? and C-C-Courage.I’ve been fortunate to have owned, or seen in person, all the original WOOA polishes but most have not been as lucky, even the people AT China Glaze. Thanks to the help of original WOOA owners, like myself, the brand attempted to re-create the collection and they’ve come pretty close for what they had to work with. Check out the 2009 version of these beauties and see how they stack up against the originals (that I still own), after the jump! |
Lancome La Collection Lollipop – Beauty for a Cause
Lancôme’s La Collection Lollipop was previewed at the Chris Benz presentation during NYFW in September. I got my first glimpse of this charity inspired collection when two of the polishes graced the models’ fingers and toes at the show.
Created to benefit the Lollipop Theater Network, the collection consists of three sets of Color Fever Gloss and Le Vernis in matching shades. Learn more about the Lollipop Theater Network and check out these adorable gloss & polish sets after the jump! |
Think Pink – OPI Pink of Hearts 2009
For the 3rd year in a row, OPI has created a shade to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure and raise breast cancer awareness. They will be donating $25,000 to the Komen For The Cure foundation.
“The fight against breast cancer continues, as does the unrelenting commitment of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help find the cures,†says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “OPI is proud to join with Komen for a third year, with Pink of Hearts 2009 Edition. It is OPI’s way to support the effort to end this disease, to honor those affected by it, and to give all women the power to help make a difference.â€
Pink of Hearts 2009 is a slightly warm mid-tone pink creme. I would call it a semi-sheer since I could still see my tips after two coats. What you see below is three coats of color with no top coat.
As you know I am raising funds for breast cancer research through the Think Pink – Donate & Win Giveaway and OPI has been kind of enough to donate 3 bottles of Pink of Hearts 2009 to the cause. We are at the halfway point in the month and only a quarter of the way to our goal so please take a minute and consider donating to this worthy cause. You could just win a basket full of nail and beauty goodies.
Pink of Hearts 2009 is on sale now at salons nationwide including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret and Ulta for $8.50/ea.
