Golden Globe Nail Watch – Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson surprised me on the Golden Globes red carpet. Known for her boho chic style, this structured Marchesa gown threw me off guard and I seriously don’t know HOW she made it through the night in those shoes. I feel wobbly just looking at them.
To contrast the bright white hue of her dress, Celebrity Manicurist Deboarah Lippmann chose a cherry red creme for her nails. See which shade she used on Kate and check out my swatch of the nail polish after the jump! |

OPI Alice In Wonderland Collection Swatches & Review
After last winter’s TV show themed 90210 collection, OPI has entered the entertainment realm again with the launch of an Alice in Wonderland collection inspired by the upcoming Disney flick, directed by the brilliant Tim Burton. OPI’s knack for clever polish names makes this collaboration a perfect fit for such a whimsical story. The collection includes limited edition polishes Absolutely Alice, Mad as a Hatter, Off With Her Red! and Thanks So Muchness! in shades of red, blue and a multi-colored glitter that made me say “WOW!” Check them out after the jump! |
China Glaze Wizard of Ooh Ahz Swatches, Comparisons & Review
The highly anticipated Wizard of Ooh Ahz collection is finally here. After a lot of nail board begging, petitions and pleas the people at China Glaze listened and brought back the famed 2001 collection including the much talked about but rarely seen Dorothy Who?, Good Witch? and C-C-Courage.I’ve been fortunate to have owned, or seen in person, all the original WOOA polishes but most have not been as lucky, even the people AT China Glaze. Thanks to the help of original WOOA owners, like myself, the brand attempted to re-create the collection and they’ve come pretty close for what they had to work with. Check out the 2009 version of these beauties and see how they stack up against the originals (that I still own), after the jump! |
CND Monday – Bloodline Colour & Crimson Sparkle Effect
Welcome to CND Monday, a new feature here on ALU. Each week I’ll be sharing a new layering combination from CND Colour & Effects to show you the versatility and creativity of the line.
It’s another reader request on CND Monday. A fellow Fanatic requested to see a look featuring Crimson Sparkle and I’m here to oblige. Up until now I had played with all the sparkles except Crimson so I was happy to have a reason to pull it out. Rather than layer it over a complementary color, like green, I decided to keep it in the same family selecting Bloodline as my base. Check out how well they play together after the jump! |
