Color Club Rebel Debutante Swatches & Review
One of Color Club’s three, yes I said three, new collections is Rebel Debutante. The collection introduces nine new creme polishes that for the most part are very chic and subdued but it’s the stand out blue and green that caught my eye. What an unexpected twist to add such bright pops of color to the palette. I suppose they are the rebels in the group. Though what I like about this collection as a whole is that even though the majority of the shades are neutrals, they are what I’d call “new neutrals.” They have an updated feel to them. MAC Riveting Matte Nail Lacquers Swatches & Review
MAC is hitting us with a lot of nail color this spring. Almost all the collections include nail polish and Riveting, MAC’s ode to 80s rocker chic, is no exception. They’re hitching their wagon on the matte polish train with three true, flat mattes. Unlike the Jin Soon polishes that were rumored to be matte (they were cremes) these are matte polishes as we’ve come to know them.
One thing that is a bit different about the Riveting nail polishes is that, unlike other brands that included one finish per matte collection, Riveting has two cremes (think OPI Matte) and one shimmer (a la OPI Suede). If you still don’t have your fill of the matte look, take a peek at these after the jump! |
Chanel Particulière, Inattendu & Tendresse Swatches & Review
The palette for the Spring 2010 Chanel collection, Les Impressions de Chanel, is all about chic, wearable neutrals. Creative Director Peter Philips wanted to honor Coco Chanel’s legacy of creating classic, timeless pieces with a wardrobe of color that never goes out of style.Included in the collection are three new Le Vernis nail lacquers including Particulière, Tendresse and Inattendu. You may recall the frenzy that erupted when Particulière was spotted on the Chanel Spring 2010 runway. We all wondered, is it a khaki, grey, mushroom, dusty purple, mauve? Would it just end up being a You Don’t Know Jacques knockoff? See for yourself after the jump! |
OPI Bright Pair with Paige Premium Demin
This spring and summer, color meets fashion as OPI’s brightest new shades for nails “pair up†with Paige Premium Denim. Bright Pair by OPI includes six trend-setting new Brights by OPI Lacquers, which perfectly match the bright new hues of Paige’s Roxbury Ankle Skinny and Canyon Shorts. When I first previewed the Bright Pair collection I was unsure of how this latest addition to the Brights by OPI summer collections would stack up against seasons past. Especially considering how much I loved the Mod Brights from last year.
This year OPI added a twist by teaming up with Paige Premium Demin to create a line of six shades to match the bright hues of Paige creator Paige Adams-Geller‘s summer palette. Read on to check out the polishes and pics from the launch party hosted by the Ron Herman boutique in West Hollywood. |
