ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Wet n Wild Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire
365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.
I was cleaning out some random shopping bags I had laying around when I found a small Walgreens bag filled with some Wet n Wild nail polishes. I don’t remember when I bought them but it couldn’t have been too long ago. I hurriedly sneaked them into my office before the boyfriend could see since, according to our agreement, nail polish cannot live outside the polish room. It was part of the deal when we bought the house. I get a room for all my nail polish nonsense as long as it doesn’t creep into the rest of the house as it had done in our old condo. Anyway, while all three colors that I picked up are very fun it was the light blue glitter that drew my focus. I was layering a few things over my OPI Done Out In Deco manicure before removing it and the combo of that and Wet n Wild Blue Wants To A Millionaire is STUNNING! |

A couple weeks ago I was invited to a blogger event at Legacy Village, an upscale shopping center in my neighborhood. They asked some local fashion and lifestyle bloggers to come check out some summer trends from White House Black Market and Charming Charlie and learn more about the stores in the complex. I was super stoked to go when I found out that some of my blogging friends, including fellow nail blogger Steff from Short ‘n Chic, were going to be there. Steff has a great sense of style and perusing the accessory racks with her was a lot of fun. I ended up coming home with a cute bracelet that I can’t stop wearing and today I decided to polish my nails to match using OPI Done Out In Deco. |
ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – China Glaze Blue Iguana from the Island Escape Collection

Today was one of those days where I couldn’t decide what nail polish I wanted to wear. We all have those days, don’t we? I was blankly staring at bottles, sifting through Helmer drawers and feeling pretty uninspired. I haven’t been sleeping well this week so I blame my polish malaise on that. I finally started swatching a bunch of random colors on my nails, hoping to be wowed. I tried a few colors before cracking open China Glaze Blue Iguana from the Island Escape collection. When Blue Iguana first arrived it didn’t look like much in the bottle, an average blue shimmer but it turned out to be more than that. |
ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Nicole by OPI My Lifesaver from the Justin Bieber One Less Lonely Girl Collection

You don’t EVEN have to say it. I already know what you’re thinking. But come on, you knew it would happen didn’t you? That eventually one of those damn Justin Bieber polishes would suck me in. And if you didn’t guess that it would be the green, it’s like you don’t even KNOW me. The first set of Nicole by OPI Justin Bieber One Less Lonely Girl polishes had some cute shades but nothing that tempted me to twist off the cap. When I saw the bright minty green, My Lifesaver, I screamed, “UNCLE!” Now what I didn’t know when I first learned about the collection is that it was created to raise awareness and funds for Pencils of Promise which helps to build schools and increase educational opportunities in the developing world. How can I scoff at Nicole by OPI for partnering with the Biebs when it’s for a good cause? His tween fans are a guaranteed sell-out audience so even though it seems odd for Justin to be associated with nail polish, at the end of the day I get it. |
ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – RGB Sea

It’s been a while since I’ve worn a rich, dark green. Green is my favorite color to wear but I seem to transition from dark to light & bright throughout the seasons. An emerald green just feels too Holiday in the middle of summer. However, I’ve had RGB Cosmetics Sea sitting on my desk, longing to be worn, for way too long now and I just had to give in. ***Edited to add – this was supposed to go live last night but apparently I don’t know how to read a calendar. Apologies for the delay. |
