Top 10 Tuesday – My Favorite Mascaras
When it comes to mascara, I am super picky. You see, my lashes are STRAIGHT! Like straighter than straight. And they’re short, and not very full. So a mascara really has to bring it in order for me to love it.
That’s why I was thrilled when my Top Ten Tuesday group selected mascaras as the subject of these week’s post. If you are plagued by straight, short lashes, I have ten great mascara finds for you!

Golden Globes Inspired Nail Art Tutorial – Mila Kunis in Gucci Premiere
Last night was so much fun, you guys! Not only did the Golden Globes air, my fave award show of the season, but I co-hosted the very first #NailGlossip twitter chat with Sarah from Chalkboard Nails and Jen from The PolishAholic. It was so great dishing on the award show looks with fellow nail fanatics. The hour flew by and I can’t wait for the next one, January 26th (Grammy night).
During the chat, @NailedKit asked if any dresses inspired us to create nail art so I threw down the challenge that we should all try our hand at some Golden Globes inspired designs. I don’t know about you guys, but I couldn’t take my eyes of Mila Kunis. Olympic Hopeful and COVERGIRL Gracie Gold Talks Patriotic Nail Art and Getting Ready for Sochi
I don’t know about you guys but I can’t wait for the Winter Olympics to begin. While the boyfriend will be all consumed with the hockey, I’ll be focused on the figure skating. I took figure skating lessons as a kid, thinking I could grow up to be Katarina Witt or Dorothy Hamill (ps I didn’t) and I can’t wait to see the latest crop of figure skating superstars hit the ice in Sochi.
I recently had the opportunity to speak with Olympic hopeful Gracie Gold who is part of the P&G Family’s Thank You Mom program and representing COVERGIRL in Sochi. Her next step towards Olympic Gold starts today with the kickoff of the US Figure Skating Championships.
We had a chance to dish on her plans for Sochi, how she keeps her face so flawless on the ice and, of course, my favorite topic, nails!
Makeup Wars – My Beauty Resolutions for 2014
My theme for 2014 is all about getting back on track. 2013 was kind of crazy for me. There were some major highs and devastating lows that threw things out of whack. And while one of the high points was getting back into the game with my blog, which quietly turned 7 last week, I want to take things to the next level in 2014.
I have set some attainable and logical goals for myself in the beauty, blogging and health realm, which fits in with this week’s Makeup Wars theme, 2014 Resolutions. Previously, I gave you some ideas for Nail Resolutions, now it’s time to share what my goals are for the coming year.
7 Nail Resolutions To Make in 2014
I’m pretty lax when it comes to a lot of things, like picking up after myself or staying organized, but I take my nail care seriously. No doubt this blog is a major reason why.
But, based on comments and questions I’ve received over the years, there are still lots of you committing major nail sins when it comes to manicure maintenance. So I’ve come up with 7 Nail Resolutions every nail polish fanatic should follow. I hope you’ll add them to your 2014 list of resolutions/goals. And if you already do all these things, you go, Glen Coco.
