The Arsenal – EOS Everyday Hand Lotion

eos-everyday-hand-lotion-evolution-of-smooth I get a lot of questions and comments regarding the tools and treatment products I use to keep my nails healthy and in tip top shape. Since my routine changes as I test new products, I’ve launched, The Arsenal, to share with you the items that are “must haves” in my nail kit.

A couple years ago I was introduced to the EOS, or Evolution of Smooth, brand when its Shave Cream launched. I received a bottle in a gift bag at an event and since you can never have enough shave cream or body wash in your life, I gave it a try. Two years later, my cabinet is stocked with EOS Shave Cream. I even have the boyfriend hooked on it. The Vanilla Bliss is my jam!

Then there was a frenzy when the EOS Lip Balm Spheres came out and I stalked my Walgreens to get a three piece set. I love those little buggers.

Well now I have a new EOS favorite in the Everyday Hand Lotion. This flat, pocket-sized tube of lotion comes in two scents (floral & cucumber), is paraben, phthalate & lanolin free and does a fantastic job of moisturizing my parched hands without leaving them greasy. I keep a tube next to my laptop and never have to think twice about grabbing my mouse or tapping on my keyboard. You won’t be leaving marks or residue behind.

What’s even better is the size. The TSA friendly 1.5oz size means I have finally found a hand lotion I love that I can carry in my purse without worry of it being confiscated. Don’t tell but, I’ve been smuggling a big tube of my beloved Aruba Aloe lotion in my purse for years and, thankfully, haven’t been caught. Considering its cost and lack of availability I shouldn’t have been taking a chance. And now I don’t have to. Now if only the Shave Cream came in a travel size.

EOS Everyday Hand Lotion is available online at EvolutionofSmooth.com and at mass retailers nationwide including Rite Aid, Walgreens and Walmart. The 1.5oz tube retails for $2.49/ea.

Disclosure: A hand lotion product sample was sent by reps for EOS. I purchased the lip balm spheres and continue to purchase the shave cream myself. For more info view my Disclosure Policy.

ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Sparitual Inner Sanctum

sparitual inner sanctum nail polish 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

Untried Day #120 – We had a visitor in our back yard and she inspired today’s manicure. The boyfriend spotted a fawn grazing around the tree in the back corner of our property and when he went out on the deck, he was amazed how unfazed she was by his presence.

It’s not like deer are that uncommon or anything but we are in a pretty urban area not far from downtown. Our neighborhood doesn’t exactly provide lots of wooded places for deer to hide.

The fawn must be pretty adjusted to city life though because she napped under our tree for the entire day and night and her mom took up residence in our neighbor’s yard. I wanted to go out to try and pet her but I kept reminding myself that I don’t live in a Disney cartoon where humans and wild animals are friends.

I dedicate today’s manicure to my little deer friend using Sparitual Inner Sanctum, the best shade I could find to match her gorgeous coat.

ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Nails Inc Warwick Way & Sloane Square 3D Glitter

nails inc warwick way sloane square 3d glitter special effects nail polish 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

Happy Hump Day Fanatics!  My nails were dying for a break and in need of some major TLC so while I am apologizing for the delay in posts my nails aren’t. I made the switch to non-acetone remover a few months ago to help prevent drying and I obsessively apply cuticle oil but sometimes my little buddies just need a rest. btw, Nubar’s Cucumber remover is the business.

So getting back to my untrieds, we’re on Day #119 and I’m digging into my Nails Inc stash. I wanted something bright and fun but I was also curious about the 3D Glitters so I paired the creamy Warwick Way with Special Effects Sloane Square. Let’s see how it turned out.

ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – A Home Run Manicure with Zoya Sooki

zoya-sooki-nail-polish-summertime-summer-2011 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

Untried Day #118: This past Tuesday I was invited to the Cleveland Indians game for a special women’s event. I had the opportunity to sit in the Social Suite on Wahoo Women night which benefits the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign.

Even though I’ve always been more of a football fan, there’s nothing quite like spending a beautiful summer night at a baseball game, sipping on a beer and snacking on peanuts (Cleveland’s own Peterson’s naturally). It’s the picture of Americana.

And I have to give it up to the Tribe’s marketing team. They have really created something special with their Social Suite. Anyone who is active in social media can apply to sit in the suite, like the fancy people, for a night. The view and the accommodations in the suite are pretty spectacular.

So what’s a nail girl to do on a night that is dedicated to both women and the Indians? A red, Tribe-themed manicure of course!  I wanted the perfect Indians red so I looked to my untrieds and found Zoya Sooki and I paired it with CND Midnight Sapphire from the upcoming Fall 2011 “The Look” launch. It is a pretty good match to the team’s blue color. Keep reading to see how it turned out.

ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – LCN Blue Laguna Nail Polish

lcn blue laguna nail polish 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

Untried Day #117: I’m already declaring magnetic nail polish to be the new crackle and with LCN being the first out of the gate in the US, I’m sure it will put them on the map with consumers in the States.

I met with the owners of LCN USA at Cosmoprof and I had no clue that the brand has been in the US for 20 years. What’s funny about that is I placed an order with a German e-tailer years ago and picked up a LCN polish not knowing it was available here. I didn’t even swatch or blog about it at the time because I know how hard it can be to get nail polishes from overseas outside of swapping.

So now that I know that this color is accessible to both my US and European Fanatics, I figured it was time to crack it open. That brings us to today’s untried, LCN Blue Laguna.
