nubar indigo ocean nail polish blue shimmer 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

Untried Day #116 – Before we start talking polish, I have a Weight Watchers update for you. If you recall, I joined the program in July after my father’s health scare. Well it’s been 30 days and I have lost 10 pounds! I’m so excited. I’m really loving WW since they have an app for Android and I’m pretty much addicted to my phone. It makes it so much easier to calculate and keep track of my points.

Okay so back on track. As you know I went to Cosmoprof last week and I promise to start posting about everything I saw tomorrow. In the meantime, let’s talk about the fact that Nubar is launching mini bottles of their best selling shades. The minis are currently available outside the US but releasing here very soon.  They also have some gorgeous colors coming out in the fall collection but I can’t reveal pics for another couple weeks. Let’s just say they are unexpected fall shades.

I had a great time chatting with Nubar founder Noubar Abrahamian and he was kind enough to send me home with some minis before they launch on the site. Oh and keep an eye out for a completely redesigned, easier to navigate ByNubar.com.

Since one of the minis is a shade I have in full size but have never worn, I decided to use it for today’s Untrieds. Let’s take a closer look at Nubar Indigo Ocean.

ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Essence Break Through & Space Queen

essence break through nail polish and essence space queen nail polish 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

Untried Day #115 – Do you ever have those days where you love your nails? Like when you file them perfectly and they are the exact length and shape you want? I’m having one of those days today. It doesn’t happen often since I’m am hypercritical but, when it does, I just LOVE putting polish on my nails.

A few weeks back an image popped up in my Tumblr stream of a pale pink with multi-colored glitter and it reminded me that Essence Space Queen has been sitting in my untrieds for way too long. I wanted to pair it with something a little bolder than the image that inspired me so I pulled out Essence Break Through. You HAVE to love a layering manicure that only costs $2.

About the 365 of Untrieds

Thank you everyone for your constructive feedback regarding the 365 of Untrieds. I really appreciate hearing what you want to see on ALU. At the end of the day I have to do what makes me happy but, I want, as much as possible, for all of you to be happy with the content I provide as well.

As I mentioned in the past, I started the 365 to end my blogpression and to better serve all of you. I felt I was failing you with my lack of consistent posting and the pressure I put myself under just wasn’t healthy. I wanted to find a way to get my blogging back on track in a way that I would enjoy. And believe me, I am really enjoying the 365 concept.

Here’s the thing though. Life gets in the way sometimes and as much as I wish I could be that person who blogs every single day for a year, clearly it just wasn’t meant to be. So based on the initial feedback and my own blogging desires I have decided to continue the 365 of Untrieds but with some adjustments.

  • The 365 will continue but I won’t beat myself up if something, like my upcoming trip to NY Fashion Week, or an unexpected issue causes me to miss a day or two. I won’t stop until I review 365 polishes from my “untrieds” stash. I’m going to include the number from now on so we can keep track together. Revlon Blue Lagoon was #114.
  • I will only review “untrieds” that are not part of current collections and, for the most part, still accessible. (ie core collection colors, non-LE)
  • I will resume collection reviews with the intent of posting at least one new collection per week. Something that both you and I want to talk about.
  • I will post collection previews and news as they come to me

Does this sound like a good compromise? I just want to be up front with you so you don’t think some tragedy occurred if I miss a day of posting. I also don’t want to feel like I’m failing myself or all of you if I miss a day. I want this to be a fun experience for all of us.

ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Revlon Blue Lagoon

revlon blue lagoon nail polish 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

When I reviewed Revlon Vixen, I pretty much ripped it a new one thanks to the extreme bubbling and difficulty in application. Then I tried Revlon Top Speed in Emerald which I fell for, hardcore, since it’s an OPI JitNB twin. In my eyes, that one polish redeemed Revlon in a big way so I wanted to give the regular line a second chance as well.

I don’t remember when I found Revlon Blue Lagoon sitting in the Summer Romantics display but I know I purchased it before I tried Vixen. All I can remember is that I couldn’t resist the tiny sparkles peering at me from behind the glass. Will it be the disaster Vixen was or will it be a winner like Emerald? Keep reading to find out.

ALU’s 365 of Untried – Sonia Kashuk Starry Night

sonia kashuk starry night nail polish 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

Even though nail polish colors have essentially become seasonless, I think we will always gravitate, in some way, towards the more typical shades associated with each season. Brights for summer, darks for winter, etc.

That being said, there’s something so refreshing about flipping the script mid-season by wearing a sky blue in winter, a la China Glaze Bahama Blues, or a sexy black in the sweltering heat of summer.

That brings me to today’s untried, Sonia Kashuk Starry Night. When I originally acquired this shade last year I wasn’t feeling it. I was ready for fun Spring colors but now that the dog days are upon us, I’m loving the contrast.
