ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Perfect Color Calypso
365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.
I’m starting to see a pattern here. I seem to be gravitating towards beiges, periwinkles and oranges lately. Any shade of blue or purple really isn’t a surprise but beige and orange? They aren’t exactly my siren call. However I’ve been on such an orange kick and I can’t seem to get enough of them. Case in point is Perfect Color Calypso from Perfect Formula. I’ve been dying to wear Calypso but, as you may recall, when I shared Perfect Color Cubist with you I promised to do a wear test to see if it lived up to its Perfect Formula name. |
ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – China Glaze Cha Cha Cha from the Island Escape Collection
365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.
By the time you read this I will be off to celebrate my birthday with my family at one of my favorite places in Ohio, Put-In-Bay on South Bass Island. I’ve mentioned the Lake Erie destination in previous posts and if you’re ever in the vicinity I HIGHLY suggest you visit. It’s the Key West of the North. Even though I’m away, the Untrieds won’t be on hiatus. Not to worry. Today I revisited the China Glaze Island Escape collection with the other color that really drew me in, Cha Cha Cha. The green nail polish lover in me will never be fully satiated so I never EVER get tired of seeing new greens. Especially when they resemble a certain fan fave that deserves way more Os than China Glaze bestowed upon it, Mooooooooooooonpooooooooool. Nail board girls, you know what I’m talking about. |
ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Wet n Wild Teal of Fortune
365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.
The other day when I posted about Wet n Wild Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire I mentioned that I found it in a bag with a couple other WnW polishes. Well Teal of Fortune was one of them. Even though I don’t remember exactly when I bought the polishes I do remember that shopping trip. The boyfriend and I had stopped at Walgreens before a movie to pick up some candy to smuggle in (I know we’re terrible). And no matter how little time I have, I can’t enter a drugstore without perusing the beauty section. There wasn’t anything that caught my eye in the seasonal displays but when I got a glimpse of these new Wet n Wild Fastdry polishes I had to take a closer look. Are any of you surprised that I snapped up Teal of Fortune without even inspecting it? To paraphrase Miss Violet Beauregard, “So long as it’s [green], then that’s for me.” |
ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday & I Know What Boys Like
365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.
It’s funny how my feelings about my birthday have changed over the thirty #$%$# years I’ve been alive. Growing up an only child, my parents spoiled the pants off me so it’s no wonder that I spent my teens and 20s turning my day into a week that was “all about me.” When I hit 30 the world was ending, of course, and now that I’m more comfortable with that first digit in my age, I find myself not caring so much about the celebration as I used to. I just remember how lucky I am to have two amazing parents who think the world revolves around me (it does doesn’t it?), a boyfriend/partner who goes above and beyond to make my life complete and a wonderfully diverse cast of characters who are more like family than friends. And of course, I’m so so lucky to have all of you supporting me and sharing the polish love. Today’s polish choice was a no-brainer since today is my birthday. Cue the fanfare, ha! I started off the month with a polish named Happy Birthday so it seems fitting to close it out the same way. This time with Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday and guest star I Know What Boys Like from the Summer 2011 color collection. |
ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Fingerpaints Outta Sight Orange
365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.
Even though Summer doesn’t technically start for a few more weeks, in the US, Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial kickoff to the season. It’s one of my favorite times of the year. And not just because my birthday usually falls on that weekend but because it means the start of the boating season, trips to Put-In-Bay, cookouts etc. We spent yesterday touring the local wineries with our neighbors and, outside of a few drops of rain, the weather was absolute perfection. Since orange is looking to be one of the big trends this summer I decided to pull out one of the new Fingerpaints Peace, Love & Color collection nail polishes, Outta Sight Orange. |
