Amy doesn’t just work for a beauty brand, she has a core love for color and nails that totally reflects in her work. As one of the creative forces behind some of my all time favorite polish collections (Summer Days, Bahama Blues, Ecollection), Amy understands what true fanatics want and delivers over and over again.
After months and months of emails I finally had the chance to meet Amy over breakfast last summer in L.A. and she’s just an absolute doll. The fact that she surprised me with the BEST green glitter EV-AH (Emerald Sparkle) was just a bonus.  What’s On Your Nails? is a series focusing on my fellow beauty bloggers and industry insiders, their favorite nail polish and other hot nail topics.When I first discovered an online gallery of makeup looks by this person calling herself Temptalia, I never thought that I’d someday be rooming with her at Fashion Week. You see kids, I was big time FOTD (Face of the Day) junkie on all the beauty message boards, wishing I could have the mad blending skills of these should-be makeup artists and Temptalia was part of the group I admired most. The unique color combos and detailed technique info she provided got me hooked so when she launched the Temptalia.com beauty blog, it became one of my daily “must reads.” And if it isn’t one of yours, it should be!
What’s funny is that I was really intimidated to meet Christine (aka Temptalia) let alone room with her and it was all for naught. She’s intelligent, motivated and, in spite her internet fame, friendly and easy to chat with. I was also insanely curious to see how much product she travels with and observe her routine in person. Amazingly enough, she actually packs incredibly light (a skill I don’t possess), wears beautiful but natural makeup (no yellow/green eyes) and has a relatively simple beauty regime. It just goes to show that you don’t need to use 10,000 products to be a beauty like Christine. For this week’s What’s On Your Nails? I got in touch with web celebrity Julia Allison from Nonsociety. Last fall I discovered Julia’s penchant for funky nail colors and her fridge full of nail polish (and nothing else!). Being that she’s on camera for like 90% of her life which requires perfectly polished digits, I had to reach out and get the deets on her manicure routine. If you aren’t familiar with Julia or her website, a quick web search will bring up more than you ever wanted to know. Of course, with such fast fame comes scrutiny and a LOT of hater-ade. Say what you will about her but she’s an educated woman that knows how to play the game and make people take notice. I was actually hoping to catch Julia backstage at Fashion Week since NonSociety’s coverage was massive but I only got a glimpse of Mary running to a show as I was heading out of the tents.  What’s On Your Nails? is a series focusing on my fellow beauty bloggers and industry insiders, their favorite nail polish and other hot nail topics.In this week’s WOYN I get to introduce you to a fellow Ohioan, Steph of Steph’s Closet. She lives in my beloved college town of Cincinnati, that I jokingly refer to as Cincitucky. I became acquainted with Steph through email even though I’d been a fan long before that.When it comes to beauty blogs, I’m instantly drawn in by great design and Steph’s Closet is a perfect example. Of course it’s her straight forward reviews and fab nail pics that keep me coming back. And I love that we have very similar taste in polish. If Steph adores a shade, I know I will too.
