nubar-2010-bottle To celebrate 10 years of creating beautiful 3-Free polishes, Nubar has released a special edition color called Nubar 2010.  A clear polish filled with iridescent flake glitter, this lacquer will make those of you who have yet to hunt down Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure very very happy.

Not only does Nubar continually put out collection after collection of gorgeous colors, they have some of the best treatment products on the market.  Their Foundation Base Coat has achieved “holy grail” status in my book and the Diamont top coat is one of the few quick drys in my arsenal that isn’t thick or tricky to apply.  In my opinion, that’s more than enough reason to celebrate their 10th Anniversary in style.  And Nubar 2010 has plenty of style.  Check it out after the jump!

Chanel Gold Lamé, Illusion D’or & Black Velvet Swatches, Review and Comparisons

chanel noir et or paris-shanghai collection le vernis Pulled straight from the runway, Chanel’s Noir Et Or Paris-Shanghai Collection is a black and gold extravaganza that would make Cleopatra proud.  Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, was inspired by the “glamorous fantasy of Shanghai in the 30’s and 40’s” when he created this limited collection consisting of three new nail colors and an eye shadow/liner palette.

Like most of you, my brow wrinkled when I heard that Chanel was jumping on the matte bandwagon so late in the game but I was intrigued by the idea of a gold glitter.  After missing out on the gorgeous Tokyo Happening glitters, I hoped this would fill that lemming and it more than surpassed my expectations.  Check out my swatches and full review after the jump!

Sally Hansen Midnight in NY and Hidden Treasure

sally hansen complete salon manicure midnight ny hidden treasure bottle Last September during NYFW, Sally Hansen unveiled their new Complete Salon Manicure line and the Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Spring 2010 Runway Collection.  Two of the shades, Midnight in NY and Hidden Treasure were layered to create the nail look for the show.

I’ve already beyond raved over the Complete Salon Manicure formula when I wore it during my NYFW NOTD Challenge so I’ll spare you my gushing but wonky brush or not, this polish wears like iron.  And the combination of Midnight in NY and Hidden Treasure is not only gorgeous, it resembles a certain hard-to-find polish that many of you hunted for last fall.  See what I’m talking about after the jump!

Zoya Sparkle Collection Swatches & Review

zoya-sparkle-collection-summer-2010 The Zoya Sparkle collection has completely wowed me.  I predicted when I saw the promo images that I would find some must-haves in the bunch but seriously they’re all winners.  Even the reds and pinks which is so unlike me.

With this first of two Summer 2010 collections, Zoya has combined the twinkling beauty of the China Glaze glass flecked formula with the foil-like metallic glitter as seen in the Orly Foil FX collection.  Together they make for one killer combo of bling and glitz that will razzle dazzle you a la Chicago.  I want to break out the jazz hands and fan kicks just thinking about it.

Check out the girls, Ivanka, Charla, Mimi, Alegra, Nidhi and Gilda, after the jump!

Nina-Dobrev-Seventeen-Magazine-April-2010 A few days ago Fanatic Ally contacted me asking about Nina Dobrev’s nails in the April edition of Seventeen Magazine.  Since I’m not a subscriber (I’m a little beyond Seventeen’s demo) I haven’t seen the issue but I was able to find some pics online.  Needless to say, I pleasantly surprised to see a cover girl sporting GREEN nails!

The reason for Ally’s email is that in the magazine, you can clearly see that Nina’s nails were covered with chunky, random glitter yet the magazine recommended OPI Bling Dynasty to get the look.  Any of you who own Bling Dynasty know that it’s a shimmering, opaque micro-glitter.  So how was Nina’s look achieved?

Fortunately my pal Celebrity Manicurist Elle was the woman responsible for Nina’s nail look so I gave her a ring to get the scoop.  Find out what she used after the jump!
