New Features on the CND Website & A Giveaway
Have you visited the CND website since Colour & Effects launched? If you haven’t you’re missing out. Here’s what’s new…
You’ll find links to Jan Arnold’s Fashion Week Blog filled with tons of videos and posts about her experience at NYFW (there’s even a bit about me on Day 3) and to the CND Nail Style Competition. Pro nail artists get a chance to go backstage with CND and see the nail magic happen up close and personal. Having been there, I can say it’s an amazing experience.
And on the Colour & Effects landing page there’s a Colour Comparison Chart helping you to discover dupes to beloved CND shades in the new line.
Last but certainly not least… CND is giving away 1,500 winners the chance to try a bottle of CND Colour. All you have to do is answer a short survey though, unfortunately for our international friends, it’s open to US Residents only.

Milani 3D Holographic, Neon and Nail Art Lacquer for Spring 2010
One of the things I love most about NYFW is getting to see what the different brands have cooking for the upcoming season. MAC in particular is always testing new products that will hopefully hit their counters. I was pleased to see a Milani presence backstage at the Charlotte Ronson show so I could find out what’s coming next from one of my fave drugstore brands.
Coming for Spring 2010, Milani is launching THREE new lines – 3D Holographic, Neon and Nail Art Lacquers with a precision brush. They had the the Nail Art Lacquers on hand and the range of colors is fab but because it was in sample packaging, I don’t have pics to show you. Here are the deets on the new lines.
3D Holographic – specialty nail lacquer is a truly astounding formula containing mica and pearl particles to create a unique 3D Holographic effect that no other nail lacquer has ever achieved. Depending on where you hold your digits, the lacquer appears to color shift thereby providing a different look in different light and at different angles. The color phenomenon is based on Holographic Image Technology that makes a very thin, bright embossed metallic flake look like a rainbow. Available in 6 shades.
Neon – specialty nail lacquer was developed to capture the explosion of color that has made an impact on the latest fashion trends. Available in 8 shades.
Nail Art Lacquer – puts Picasso at your fingertips. Custom nail designs are a snap since the high quality precision striping brush allows for detail work. Nails are the canvas and you are the artist. Available in 10 shades.
I’m definitely curious about the 3D Holographics. We’ve seen holographic polishes from other brands in the past so I wonder what makes these different and 3D? Which line are you most looking forward to?
Lancome & Chris Benz Unveil Their Pout-A-Porter Lipstick
The biggest news on the lipstick front is the collaboration between Lancome and designer Chris Benz. It’s the fifth installment of the Pout-A-Porter series and I’ve got the scoop. Following in the footsteps of innovative designers like Thakoon, Peter Som, Benhaz Sarafpour and Proenza Schouler, Chris worked with makeup artist Daniel Martin to create a gorgeous shade that does total justice to the P-A-P series.
In a true stroke of genius, Lancome and Chris Benz involved their fans in the launch with a Facebook contest on Chris’s fan page to name the shade. The winner receives five of the lipsticks and a $500 Lancome gift card!
You may remember that I broke the news of this collaboration in my review of Declaring Indigo. Now, thanks to my friends at Lancome, I have the privilege of sharing the name and first look of this amazing lippie with all of you before its debut at New York Fashion Week.
Chris & Tell is the name Chris chose for the opaque peach color. Isn’t that adorable? Such a fun play on words. They used the color for the first time last week during the hair and makeup test as shown on model Elettra wearing one of Chris’s Spring 2010 dresses.

Exciting Illamasqua News
Guess what fanatics?? Illamasqua is coming to the USA!! That’s right, the edgy UK brand that has been wowing bloggers with their insanely cool color palette and high quality products will now be available in the States.
As I read on the Sephora Blog, Illamasqua is launching on Sephora.com on July 21st and at their Times Square location on July 30th. By fall they’ll roll out to Sephora stores across the country. How freakin amazing is that??
EXCITING Rescue Beauty Lounge News
Happy Friday Fanatics! It’s actually a VERY happy Friday because I can finally share the deets on the next release from Rescue Beauty Lounge and it’s MAJOR. I’ve been DYING to tell you all about this for what seems like forever and here’s why…
Last winter the lovely Ji Baek contacted me, asking if I would be interested in creating my dream Rescue polish. Um HELLO, are you kidding?? On what planet would I say anything but a screeching “YES!”??
So for the past few months myself and two other lucky bloggers (Polish Addict & Scrangie) have been working with Ji as she custom blended our perfect shade and they’ll be coming soon to the RBL site. Can you even? I seriously feel like this isn’t my life and in all honestly nothing like this would have ever been possible without your loyal readership and support.
Now I’m sure you’re wondering what kind of crazy concoction I came up with. Well what I wanted is something I don’t own, that I felt was missing from the RBL lineup, and that would fit with Ji’s chic aesthetic. I already own way too many emerald greens to satisfy my needs but what I don’t have and can’t seem to find is the quintessential purple creme and you guys she NAILED it (no pun intended).
Fellow purple lovers you’re gonna drool. I’ve been wearing the lab sample around and getting nothing but compliments. I can’t WAIT for you to see it. The best part… I got to name it so get ready to see MISMAS on a bottle of RBL some time in late July or early August.
