Marie Claire’s “Most Wanted Beauty Awards” Favorite Nail Blogger Is…
Me!! Oh my gosh, you guys. Thank you so much for the love and support over the years. I adore you all.
I’m overwhelmed to be voted Favorite Nail Blogger in the first ever Marie Claire Most Wanted Beauty Awards and, as cliche as it sounds, I was thrilled just to be nominated by the MC beauty editors.
I was up against so stiff competition so if it wasn’t for all of you, I never would have won so THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
The rest of the winners are up on MarieClaire.com/MostWanted2013 and in the October 2013 issue (with Vanessa Hudgens on the cover), on stands now. I snagged a copy at Target on Sunday (picking up some #PhillipLimforTarget goodies). Am I total dork for wanting to buy a backup?
Exciting News – Coming Soon… FingerPaints “A Pair Affair” by All Lacquered Up
A year in the works, I can finally spill the beans on the most exciting thing to ever happen to me because of this blog. Coming September 2013 to Sally Beauty stores nationwide, the FingerPaints “A Pair Affair” by All Lacquered Up nail polish collection!!!!
If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you may remember seeing pics from my visit to the Sally Beauty Headquarters last June. Well, that’s where it all began. From submitting color concepts, to approving and disapproving over 50 color samples, to brainstorming names and helping design the displays, I’m proud to be able to finally share this exciting news with you all.
The FingerPaints A Pair Affair by All Lacquered Up collection is just as the name suggests, three duos of on-trend shades meant to be used for multi-colored manicures, mani/pedi combos and nail art.
The display image gives away one of the pairs, purple & green (like there wouldn’t be a green!) but I’ll be giving you sneak peek at the full collection in the coming weeks. I hope you love it as much as I do!
Disclosure: Compensation was provided by Sally Beauty for creation of this collection. For more info, view my Disclosure Policy.
Nail It! – A Magazine for Nail Fanatics (And I’m In It!)
Have you ever perused the magazine aisle at a drugstore and noticed that there are a sea of hairstyle magazines but nothing, and I mean NOTHING, about nails? Well those days are over, people. The brains behind NAILPRO are filling that need with the recently launched Nail It! Magazine.
Oh and bonus, I’m featured in the July/August issue. Nail It! EIC Stephanie Yaggy-Lavery interviewed me about my favorite products, brands and nail trends. Such a thrill!
The magazine focuses on color trends, celebrity nails, nail art (including tutorials) and incorporates beauty and fashion seamlessly into the mix. On top of all that, they are really incorporating bloggers by featuring their nail art and promoting their blogs both in the magazine and on their companion website NailItMag.com.
So head on out and pick up a copy at your local newsstand or save money and subscribe. Visit NailItMag.com/Subscribe or WheresMyMagazine.com to find a local retailer.
Have you seen Nail It! in stores ? Are you a subscriber? What’s your favorite feature in the magazine?
Debating Nail Polish in The New York Times? Yes, I Am
The New York Times “Room for Debate” is a regular series that features a diverse group of pundits offering their views on a certain topic. For the most part, the debates focus on political or social issues but today they’re delving into the wild world on nail polish colors and they asked me to share my two cents. It’s pretty uncommon ground for the section and I was proud to be a part of it.
Me and my fellow debaters tackled the subject of bold nail colors and why they have gained such mainstream stature. It’s quite an entertaining read though the comments make it ten times better. Seriously, I don’t want to spoil it for you but believe me, it’s worth a look. Why Did Wild Nail Polish Go Mainstream?
I included my take on the subject here but I encourage you to read the views of all the debaters AND the comments and I hope you’ll lend your thoughts on the topic. Enjoy!
All Lacquered Up in InStyle’s “Best of the Web” 2010
I am beyond thrilled to share with you that All Lacquered Up was selected as one of the best beauty blogs on the web in the annual InStyle “Best of the Web” feature. Out of the thousands of beauty blogs out there, the editors at InStyle chose four blogs for their list and I’m honored to be one of them.
If you would have told me back in 2007 when I started this site that it would ever be mentioned in any magazine, let alone InStyle, I would have laughed at you. What a journey this has been. ALU wouldn’t be what it is without all of you so I thank you for being a part of the site’s continued success. Congrats to my fellow “Best of the Web” beauty bloggers Now Smell This, Makeup Artist Tricia Sawyer and Celebrity Hairstylist Mark Townsend. |
