Essie Summer 2010 Preview

essie summer 2010 nail polish collection Ever since I first laid my eyes on a pic of Dominica Green on the MUA Nail Board many years ago, I’ve been dying for Essie to bring us another fabulous green and I know I’m not alone.  Well our wishes have been heard.  The Essie Summer 2010 Collection includes what looks to be a stunning vivid green.

Summer is special. Aside from the wonderful outdoor activities that we wait for all year, we also revel in the opportunity to now wear lighter, brighter and more playful clothing. Finally, we can shed the wool and mohair for cotton and linen. The keyword for summer is: fun! So shed those boring, drab clothes and at last, indulge in seriously sensational color! Don’t be shy — make it the time to play with bold, playful color combinations.

Illamasqua Body Electrics Nail Varnish Preview

The Illamasqua Blog has been hinting about the upcoming Body Electrics collection for Summer 2010 for a while now and I’ve been very anxious to see what a collection with such a high voltage name would bring to us in terms of nail color.

Chanel Noir Et Or Paris-Shanghai Collection Preview

chanel-noir-et-paris-shanghai-collection-1 For the “Metiers D’Art” fashion show in Shanghai, Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, created an exclusive collection, Noir Et Or. The collection is a glamorous fantasy of Shanghai in the 30’s and 40’s as Coco Chanel herself may have imagined it. The black and gold eyes and nails complimented the gilded and jet black accents shown on the runway.

Like the Paris-Moscou Collection, the Noir Et Or Paris-Shanghai Collection is a limited edition set of colors taken straight from the runway.  I have to admit I’m a bit surprised to see Chanel coming out with a matte polish at this point in the game.  They’ve always been trendsetters not followers so I’m curious to see how Black Velvet is received.

Essie Resort Collection Preview

Every year since we’ve met, The Boyfriend and I have taken a vacation in the Spring.  We’re about to hit 11 years in April, that’s a lot of travel.  It’s usually to a tropical destination though we’ve had a few cold weather vacays as well. Anyway, this year we talked about heading to Cancun for a week of laying by the pool with endless fruity drinks but due to my inability to pull the trigger on a deal I found in January, that didn’t happen.

Instead we’re taking a trip to the Finger Lakes (one of our fave destinations) for a week of wine tasting so it’s not all bad but then I open my email to find THIS info from Essie. It’s like she’s teasing me with these colors.  I just want to dive into Turquoise & Caicos and not come up for air.

Beach bound jetsetters can now reach the pinnacle of resort-inspired style with this newest limited-edition collection by essie. The Resort Collection was created to mimic the sights and sounds of the world’s most exotic destinations. The four colors are must-have accessories for any tropical vacation and the only escape for your hands and feet that doesn’t require a passport.

“I wanted to create colors that would reflect a passion for all-things paradise,” says Essie Weingarten, founder and president of Essie Cosmetics, Ltd. “Chic vacationers are known for their island-inspired style and these nail colors add the final fashionable touch to that look.”

Vibrant and trendy, these bold colors are a must-have accessory for every beach goer and for those with no vacation plans in sight, they’ll bring a ray of sunny paradise into the day.

The Essie 2010 Resort Collection launches in May on essie.com and in salons nationwide.

Lapis of Luxury is calling my name. What about you?

zoya-flash-sparkle-summer-2010 If there’s one thing I’m certain of, it’s that 2010 is shaping up to be one glitter party of a year.  If you thought that between the OPI Alice In Wonderland, Nubar Sparkles and the upcoming Lippmanns that you had more than enough options to bling out your nails, get ready for what Zoya is bringing to the party.

Launching in April and following what seems to be a Zoya tradition, two new Summer collections will launch; Flash consisting of six glossy cremes and Sparkle a line of six sparkling metallics.  Check out the preview pics after the jump!
