Get The Nail Look – Lea Michele at the 62nd Annual Emmy Awards

Lea Michele at the 62nd Annual Emmy Awards 2010 wearing blue nail polish Birthday girl Lea Michele ruled the Emmy red carpet in a stunning navy Oscar De La Renta gown.  The Glee star, who IMO should have won for Best Actress, glowed from head to toe.  She is my pick for best dressed of the night and in some shots I’ve seen, she strongly resembled Penelope Cruz.  After all they do both love Mr. De La Renta’s frocks.

Lea’s glam squad was comprised of Makeup Artist Melanie Inglessis for NARS, Hair Stylist Mark Townsend for Dove and Manicurist Deborah Lippmann.  Melanie Inglessis used NARS new Pure Matte Lipstick in Tashkent and while I was leery about the whole matte lip trend taking us back to 90s, it looks beautiful on Lea.

Pairing dramatic winged eye liner with nude lips and full, tousled hair, Lea’s nails were painted a deep, dark hue to match her dress.  Can you guess what polish Deborah used?

in Blue, Fall 2010, Green, MAC, Orange, Purple, Taupe with 58 Comments
mac-nail-trend-fw-2010-collection-jin-soon-fall MAC Nail Trend F/W 10 officially launches today at MAC counters nationwide.  The polishes went up on the MAC website Tuesday and surprisingly they have not sold out.  Perhaps due to the craze over Fabulous Felines.

Speaking of Fabulous Felines, if you’re like me and totally intimidated by liquid liner I highly suggest you try the Superslick Liquid Eye Liners in this collection.  I swear on my Helmers that they’re so easy to apply, I just may give up my pots of Fluidline and I’ve been using them for YEARS.

On to the reason you’re all here.  I wanted to give you some color comparisons before the Nail Trend colors sold out so thank you to everyone who submitted swatch suggestions.

mac-nail-trend-fw-2010-collection-jin-soon-fall Jin Soon does it again! Following up her slam dunk sell-out collaboration with MAC last fall, they have teamed up again on Nail Trend F/W 10.

If you aren’t familiar with the genius that is Jin Soon check out The Nail Files interview I posted last year. She’s major in the editorial world and really on her game with color as evidenced by the nail polishes she created with MAC.

Mistress of the art of the sophisticated nail, Jin Soon was inspired this season by the sensual pleasures of the Forbidden City for Nail Trend F/W ’10 – colours taken from the sculptures, tiles, architecture, fabrics, and decorative papers of Imperial China.

Jin synthesized this vision to arrive at a collection in exotic and ravishing combinations of orange, blue, taupe, green, purple and, of course, lacquer red.

Orly Cosmic FX Fall 2010 Collection Swatches & Review

orly-cosmic-fx-collection-fall-2010 2010 is turning out to be the year of texture.  Satin, glitter, sequins, crystals, etc. have all been making a splash in the nail world.  Orly has certainly stepped up their game with the Cosmic FX collection.

Combining natural rock minerals, crystals, and glass they have taken duo-chrome polishes to a new level. We’re talking the multi-dimensional love child of foil and duo-chrome. Each polish flashes multiple colors depending on the angle and how the light hits it. These are certainly not shades for the color shy.
