Bobbi Brown is giving us old school glam with her Holiday 2013 “Old Hollywood” collection. As I’ve said before, this season’s nail polish trends are going the more traditional route with metallics and reds dominating the scene.

Clearly Bobbi got the memo and then some as she’s giving us holographic glitter realness with her new shade, Chrome. Who ever thought you’d see the words Bobbi Brown and holographic glitter in the same sentence? I mean, what??

Chanel Spring 2014 Nail Polish Charivari & Tapage – Coming Soon

Chanel Spring 2014 nail polish, Charivari and Tapage from Notes de Printemps

Chanel Spring 2014 – Charivari and Tapage

After seeing pale nails dominate the Spring 2014 runways, I feared we were doomed to a relatively color-less season. Thankfully, Chanel isn’t playing that neutral game. Their spring nail polish offerings, Chanel Charivari (soft purple/mauve) and Tapage (bright pink) are bold and vivid.

Lightness and brightness set a fresh, upbeat tone for spring. Inspired by this sunny duality, the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio presents a harmony of pastels, electric pinks and vivid purples in COLLECTION NOTES DE PRINTEMPS.

The contrast of lively reds pairs unexpectedly with pinks and purples to create an infinite array of playful yet polished looks.

The Chanel Spring 2014 Collection Notes de Printemps nail colors officially launch in January 2014, though they are already available on Chanel.com and coming soon to Nordstrom.com and Macys.com. Chanel nail polish retails for $27/ea.

I will have a full review and swatches soon but, in the meantime, are you excited by these new colors? Which one are you gravitating toward?

I really have to applaud Urban Decay’s current approach to nail polish. When they relaunched the nail line, they decided on a less is more concept. Instead of overwhelming us with color, they are only releasing two shades per season and it’s really working well. I would much rather have two knockout, well-made polishes than a large collection that includes a few unique shades and a lot of dupes or recycled colors.

Just as I was head over heels for the Urban Decay Fall 2013 nail polish shades, the Urban Decay Holiday 2013 nail polishes have captured my heart as well. Like I seriously never want to take off Zodiac. Which is saying a lot!

As part of their bigger-than-ever holiday collection, OPI Mariah Carey Holiday includes six new Liquid Sand colors. Unlike the Liquid Sand’s that were part of the first Mariah Carey collection, these shades are more refined. No star glitter or giant chunky sequins to be found. I like the direction OPI has taken with Liquid Sand and the way they have evolved it over the past year. These shades are more in line with my PixieDust-loving self.
