Ever Dreamed of Being in ELLE?
Well, now is your chance. The ELLE Makeover Challenge is underway and if you win, you will be featured in an issue.
ELLE magazine wants to see your dramatic change! Did you go from long to short hair? Brunette to blond? Slob to stylista? The ELLE editors invite you to send them an email with your dramatic makeover. The editors will pick one extraordinary transformation, fly the lucky person to ELLE’s New York offices to meet with editors, have their portrait shot by a top magazine photographer and then those stunning shots will be in the January ’08 ELLE.
All the details can be found on the Elle Makeover Challenge page on Elle.com.

Celebrate Good Times
I’m in a celebratory mood. Not only am I on the verge of moving into a new house with my very own polish room (Yay!!!) but I’m also pleased to announce that All Lacquered Up has passed the 100,000 visitor mark. It seems so unreal that my little space on the web would get so much attention. I honestly didn’t expect many people outside of the Makeup Alley family to find me. But, I’m so happy you did. Thank you all for the support.
To commemorate the event I decided it was time to give All Lacquered Up a face lift. As I’m sure you all could tell, I am NOT a web designer so I turned to someone much more talented than I. After seeing Yummy411‘s new look I was inspired so, I contacted Zoe from Chic & Sassy Designs to create this fab template for me and I love it. I hope you all do too.
But that’s not the end of this little party. I can’t celebrate without all of you. So make sure you check back October 1st to see the details of an exciting new contest and giveaway.

Reader Poll: Cast Your Vote!
Ok everyone! I need your help. I’ve been trying new formats for my swatch photos and I’d like your input as to which style you prefer.
I tend to use direct sunlight for my images but that doesn’t necessarily give the best representation of how the polish will look for the majority of the time you’ll have it on. Then again, shade shots don’t show off the finish as well. So I’m leaving it in your hands. Let your voice be heard!
Polished Pups
Fellow BBN member Elke pointed me in the direction of this article from American Salon Magazine. In it, they use a selection of fall shades from OPI, Essie and CND to color a dozen doggie figurines. I have to say that the Cavalier is my favorite but I’m biased. My parents have an adorable Cavvy named Roxy.

Talk about a fun use of lacquer. It’s like that woman that painted her car with polish and tried to sell it on eBay.
